Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomReally comfy beds, and the deluxe room was fantastic on the corner with great views over the bay. Very dog friendly. Fantastic pub downstairs with a great atmosphere. Beware that it's a busy pub which can be loud, but that was perfect for us because we like that! Really close to the centre of town, just a steep walk up from town to the hotel. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

United KingdomThe hotel warns of some noise as the rooms are above the bars but on some nights it was louder than I anticipated so I used my noise cancelling earphones to prepare for sleep. But some guests, like my husband, will be able to ignore it.
A beautiful spacious room with a fantastic view over rooftops to the bay. Breakfast was generous. All the staff were great, friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWiFi poor but better in the bar area. Some noise from the pub in the evenings, wasn’t an issue for me and the owners make this very clear in their comms but useful to be aware. Parking a bit of a challenge but we visited on a very busy weekend fir Falmouth
Great location, staff very helpful and friendly, nice cosy room. Pub is also friendly and a great for a nightcap. Breakfast was nice. Visited during the Shanty weekend, had a great time and would stay here again

United KingdomThe TV did not work as not linked to the Internet. Talking downstairs in the pub till 1am was unexpected.
Location was good. Room was comfortable. Dressing gowns were nice to have as the bathroom/toilet were separate. Also good to have a wash basin in the room.

New ZealandVery noisy the night I stayed as there was live music directly beneath my room until late. Pub seating outside on the street just below my window (which wouldn’t close) meant extra noise from people laughing and chatting outside. All meant a very late night for me - walking the Coast Path with long days means I need a good night’s sleep! I was exhausted the next day. Carpets leading up the stairs to the rooms are absolutely filthy - not a good first impression. Breakfast very basic - would be nice to have some fruit on offer. I wouldn’t stay again.
Friendly staff, room had everything I needed and a great hospitality tray including a coffee maker.

United KingdomOn approach to the building thought where are we now. Went inside to be met by the bar staff who showed us to our room which for the money was excellent, clean tidy and well stocked for different teas and coffee making machine, nice biscuits and both still and fizzy Cornish water. Access to town was 192 steps down the Jacobs ladder for us but found in the morning that there was an easier route. It is first and foremost a pub serving the area with events on most nights but with lovely rooms above and great breakfast in the morning. Having done the fisherman’s friends at the minaic theatre earlier it was a quaint drive to the pub with the option to enjoy the evening how we liked.

United KingdomWe enjoyed it but we'd recommend those who want a quiet room to not book over the weekend, the pub is lively and has many events in the evenings.
The staff were all delightful, we felt very well looked after during our stay. Also the room was generously sized, clean and nicely decorated. The roast dinner in the pub was delicious too, I highly recommend!
