How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The restaurant was a little cold, but it was a very hot day outside. Jumpers and cardigans were needed. But that's not really such a bad thing.
This was a last minute booking due to our original accommodation no longer being available. We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by name upon arrival (due to only booking about 20 mins prior). The hotel was excellent and finished to a very high standard. The restaurant was also good, although a little on the expensive side, the food was delicious. Finding an EV charger was an unexpected bonus that meant we left the following morning with a full battery and was able to arrive at our destination with more charge than anticipated.

Walk in shower very much needs a grab handle as, being elderly, we did not feel secure. Pointed this out to staff and was offered a rubber mat but this never appeared. Duvet on enormous bed lumpy with filling poorly distributed.
Breakfast excellent. Room very comfortable

Evening meal was very slow to arrive menu was limited & the meal was average, shame as the restaurant is nice , there was only 4 in the restaurant so it wasn’t busy . Breakfast took 35minutes to arrive & the restaurant was quiet. Apparently there was a new chef, hopefully he will get up to speed quickly. Shame as couldn’t fault the rest of our stay which would have been top score.
Room & Bathroom very good, also good air conditioning, & great shower.

It’s a good 15 minute walk into Sherborne centre. Hotel is very new and smart and comfortable but lacking a bit of character.
Very new hotel with large, comfortable room, sofa and tv area, nice big bed, large bathroom with nice shower. Lots of parking too. We had room at front of hotel in first floor so view from our windows was hills and countryside. Hotel backs onto A30 and they hide it very well and not noisy but we asked for rooms at the front. Breakfast was delicious and very good service.

The time it took to get breakfast was not ideal. There were a number of boys playing a golf competition and it was taking 35 mins to get food out. It was a bit of a shambles to be honest.

Dinner, menu choices were poor and the food was bad.
The reception staff could not do enough for you, fantastic. Breakfast was good but dinner was awful. Accommodation was fantastic.

Nice modern property. Large room with comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean with excellent shower. Room included quality amenities - especially liked the mini SMEG fridge that had fresh milk for our use. Great breakfast options freshly prepared. Staff were helpful and quick to respond to any requests. Would stay here again.

The noise from the adjacent road. The double glazing was not sufficient to keep out the road noise

Green fire alarm light shone directly on to the bed all night. Staff knew about this when we mentioned it in the morning. Very noisy from the road.
