Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStayed here Friday night after a long day of travelling.. we were super lucky in that we got a parking space right outside the door upon arrival, I had phoned ahead to say we may be late in arriving due to traffic but was reassured that there would be someone at the Bull Inn a few doors down to hand us the keys. Luckily we weren’t too late and the girl that checked us in was very helpful, showed us our room quickly before we headed out for dinner. Came back that night and was very happy to find a heater in our room (it wasn’t overly cold, I just love a heater!) put that on and slept in what may just be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Shower was lovely, handy communal pantry for tea, coffee, milk and refreshments.. there was also a sign next to a cake stand that said “Oreo brownies” but they must have been good as try as I might, I was never lucky enough to nab one.. the other guests must have been quicker than me! Breakfast in the morning was lovely, table service from a very friendly lady.. back to our room for one last lay on the comfy bed before check out!

United KingdomThe double glazing wasn't quite closable so some street noise (we faced onto the Main Street), but no sleep was lost!
A beautiful building, decorated with exquisite taste, right down to the finest detail. Our room (Silver) was spacious, light, with a really comfortable bed. Clean elegant bathroom with shower. Decorated with linen, wood, rustic colours - gorgeous. The staff were super helpful and charming. Breakfast was top quality. We ate at the sister restaurant 4 doors down - the Bull - which was of equal quality. We will definitely return, and try the tapas restaurant!

United KingdomWe stayed in room Wish. It had a fire exit door that goes into another room which no one told us about, so we could sometimes clearly hear the people in the other room talking until they tried to open the door (they also didn’t know where the door went) and I had to explain it to them which was awkward. My boyfriend and I felt like we couldn’t comfortably talk after that

United KingdomOur room was very warm and there was very little light. Perhaps the room would benefit from some brighter lighting.
Original features preserved and utilised beautifully throughout the building. Very quaint and tastefully decorated. Bed was also very comfortable. We loved the pantry that was accessible to all guests. The breakfast was also very nice.

GreeceRooms need more lighting.
We stayed only for one night but we enjoyed our stay. The room is small but has everything you need, considering that you are not going to stay inside. It’s an excellent location to explore the beautiful town and also the Cotswolds region. The staff is very friendly. We had a very tasty breakfast too.

United KingdomThe attic room (girl) was oppressively hot as we happened to book during a heatwave. The space fan wasn’t nearly enough under those conditions. Staff kindly gave us a big bucket of ice, but a portable mini air conditioner would have been preferable.
Beautiful balance between modern style and convenience whilst maintaining period features and charm.

United StatesI appreciated that they came in every day to straighten the room and take out the trash—it was always nice to return to a tidied space. However, I never understood why they wouldn’t remove the dirty towels when they were left on the ground. Usually, leaving washcloths or towels on the floor is a sign they should be taken away. I also noticed that some areas, particularly around the coffee station, could use more dusting, and the seating in the dining area could be wiped down more thoroughly.
I really loved my room. I switched my lodging at the last minute and was so happy with this find. I loved the style, the texture of the walls, and the way everything was decorated. All the little touches—fresh milk, baked goods, and coffee and teas—were wonderful. They also offered a nice breakfast selection, and I appreciated how they gave you the option for a late breakfast and late checkout, unlike many other places. The staff, for the most part, were extremely helpful and kind—though at times the conversation felt a little awkward, they were still very nice overall. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to others.

United KingdomThe room was quite hot as it’s essentially rooms in the ceiling - but it was a very hot day! Also a touch loud from the road as our room was directly facing that.

United KingdomAlthough the room was great the lighting was poor so to shave etc was tricky. My only other concern was when I approached the room the door height was too low and as a result i kept banging the top of my head and I am only 5ft 10! There should be a warning and the area should have a cushion or something installed so if you do bump your head it doesn't scratch it as that happened to me on several occasions. Coffee could of been better.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Great Bar and superb breakfast as well... real value for money.

United KingdomThe only downside is the constant traffic on the high street - nothing the hotel can do about that, but they may be able to offer quieter rooms.
A wonderfully quirky old building, beautifully designed into a comfortable, cosy and relaxed hotel. The staff are lovely, the breakfast excellent (amazing local produce), and the complimentary pantry (where you can sneak a to-die-for homemade blondie) is a defining touch. Also loved that there was no TV in the room - it made it so easy to have a few days away from news-stress. Highly recommended.
