The family room was very generously sized, and clean, with a beautiful bay window affording great views of the hotel grounds. The property was beautiful, with amazing facilities- a swimming pool, 2 restaurants and a playground area. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach and there is also another play park with a zip wire nearby. The staff were all attentive and absolutely lovely! My 5 year old daughter awarded it 7 out of 7 (seven is very popular with her at the moment)

It’s hard to find fault! There was some beautiful furniture and objet d’art scattered around the hotel, however a lot of the artwork hung in the walls was not very cohesive and seemed to be a bit of a random assortment and wasn’t to my taste (there was a beautiful oil portrait however). I think some different pictures/prints would really make a dramatic impact.

    The location was good.

The bungalow was very disappointing. Access was via the patio door - this had a very stiff lock and we were unable to lock it properly and therefore we had to leave it open when in and out! The front door access ment walking through a very unsafe area which should be tided up!

One of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel in 40 years... Well done Grove team..

Not the hotel's fault but Taxi availability is a problem in Norfolk..

Fantastic stay in this rustic and historic guest house. The location and grounds are beautiful. The food was Michelin star quality, much of which is grown in the grounds and caught locally - the chef is clearly superb. The rooms and amenities, all be it fitting with the age and style of the accomodation, are a little tired and need of repair / modernisation, but comfortable and very clean.

Nothing we didn't like, the place just needs a little TLC

I arrived at the hotel quite late and although the restaurant was closed they managed to prepare some excellent sandwiches for me which I thoroughly enjoyed. The bar in the hotel I found to be particularly friendly and warm place with some interesting guests who you could talk with And a very pleasant view out over the grounds.

Unfortunately, my car GPS sent me to the wrong location. Whilst it was nearby, the location that I was sent to was a caravan park. Once I realised I was in the wrong place I went back out onto the main road and as I was driving around I then saw the entrance to the Grove. I also used the hotel swimming pool which was a small indoor swimming pool in a stand-alone building. It may or may not have been a coincidence, but just before I flew back home to Asia 24 hours after my swim, I started to develop an earache which turned into a very severe ear infection which took a number of weeks to clear up. I cannot prove that I got the infection through swimming in the swimming pool, but according to my specialist it was the most likely source of the infection. Nothing to do with the hotel but this is my second attempt at writing this review because my first attempt was rejected by Booking.com as my photograph of this attractive property showed cars parked outside the property and it was just possible to read the registration plates of the 3 vehicles, one of which was my own. Booking.com decided that that information was information that breached its posting rules. Accordingly, I will never ever again provide any photographs of any property that I stay in on Booking.com.

The hotel was in a beautiful location surrounded by wooded areas. It was within walking distance of Cromer town centre, and the walk into town along the seafront was lovely. There were electric charge points on site which were free for residents, which was a very nice touch. Although we didn’t use them, there was a swimming pool and massage room available. The room was fairly small but included everything we needed for a one night stay.

Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate and was quite expensive, so we didn’t choose to eat at the hotel

    Green space and lovely garden.

Old furniture needs renovating, the reception lady was weird in the last day, she made us check out of the room at 10.30 am which didn’t make sense.

Our room, superior double in a delightful garden setting, exceeded our expectations. We especially liked the friendly staff, rooms, comfortable bed, indoor heated swimming pool and the general ambience of the Grove.

The house itself was lovely, good size and great location.

When we checked in the receptionist was quite rude and aloof and seemed very disinterested in us as guests and more interested in those who were attending events. No hello on arrival just a “yes?” The beds were so soft that the mattress sort of half slid off as you got into bed.
