I had some difficulty finding the place, mainly due to my failure to remember the details of the address and how to get there. The sign outside the property is, however, partially concealed by a large bush, which meant that I walked past without seeing it and it took me some time to realize that I had walked too far.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. I soon felt at home - except that my home is seldom so clean and tidy! Not only was the breakfast very good, but I didn't have to pay extra for it. I've stayed at half-a-dozen guesthouses, hotels, etc. during the past two weeks. This shares first place in my ranking.

I advice the ower to chage the mattress as it was very very soft, she said she would.

Very good communication, the ower was friendly an helpful, allowing me to drop my luggage before the check in. The room was well equiped, and clean. TheGreat Grub is well located, 15 min walk from the station, less than 10 from town. I would happily book there in the future.

There was a 'method' to manage the hot water for the shower. The owner kept us informed before and during our stay and was waiting for this to be fixed properly by a plumber. It didn't deter from our stay.

Communication was easy with very friendly and helpful owners. Room was clean and comfortable. It was refreshed each day and parking on site was a bonus. It was only a short 10 minute walk into Totnes.

The family who run the hotel are so welcoming and friendly. They were really good at keeping in touch before and during our stay and answering our questions. The breakfast was ample, we had cereal, yogurt and fruit and a pot of coffee. We didn't choose the cooked breakfast as we were eating later. It was only about 15 minutes walk out of town.it was easy to catch busses and ferries. Absolutely perfect for what we wanted. We had the seperate annex room at the front. It was quiet and private. Great stay. Thank you

I liked it all, felt very at home, and have nothing but smiling gratitude for the stay. However, to be fair, it wasn't quite what the website led me to expect. There isn't any food served there and it is much more of a family place, like a big house, than I thought it would be. However, it was all lovely and I can definitely recommend it.

Delightful and helpful hostess and a cozy home-like feeling. Comfortable, clean, and surprisingly quiet. Nice sunny sitting area in the back with tables: lovely to sit and read or eat, or meet other guests. Easy walking distance to town.

The room was a bit tight but we made it work. There was some road noise and other noise but that all quieted down during the evening. Also, we had planned to walk to the train station but really didn't think that it would be as easy as suggested, hence, the taxi.

Comfortable bed and nice shower though the cabinet was a bit small. Sandra was an excellent hostess and helped us in every was she could. She helped us book a taxi and made sure we were as comfortable as possible.

Good value lodging in walking distance from Totnes HS. Breakfast is not offered, however the landlady makes available cereal and milk for a simple morning munch if required. Would stay again.

Warm cozy room with tea facilities and bathroom...just needed a bath mat from out of the shower and the room cleaning a bit better, but it was all good for 2 nights.
