Cleanliness of the bathroom - this might have been due to the reno's currently happening at the hotel.

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional, we booked dinner both evenings and the food was lovely. The views were excellent, and information regarding Bute was readily available.

Glorious old hotel with all of the charm that such architectural beauties hold. Step back in time in a good way! Gardens were gorgeous and the views amazing. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Bar was great and the food looked delicious. Breakfast was a well stocked self serve buffet.

Parking is limited as restoration work is being carried out but that is our only negative comment.

Beautiful old hotel with spectacular views over the bay. We had a room with duel aspect views. Very comfortable rooms with lovely traditional furniture. Beds super comfortable. Really tasty breakfast with everything you could want. Perfect eggs and brilliant hash browns. The staff were so helpful and kind. Will definitely return. Such good value.

All the steps up to the hotel and lack of parking but little to be done due to its setting which was also part of its charm .

Nothing - we got what we expected for the price we paid and the description of the room on here.

The hotel offers exceptional value for money. It’s clearly less grand than it once was but money has been spent in the right places - the bathroom suite was dated, for example, but sealant and grout were recent and spotless. All staff were friendly and efficient. The view from the bar across the bay alone makes it value for money!

Lack of maintenance e.g greenery outside our room was coming in the windows. Paintwork and some decor is in very poor condition. Tables on veranda at front were very dirty.

Really like the situation- fantastic views. Furniture is old fashioned but very useful and suits the building style. Beds are very comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Asked about a change of room, as we had been given a similar room twice and did not like it. This was readily given.

I enjoyed everything.

We had a lovely stay - what a view! I also really liked the space and set up of the dining areas and their access to outside. I had perhaps the nicest burger and chips I've ever had in my life. Everything about it was done just the way I like it. Breakfast also good.

The rooms were old fashion, it was very clean, the view was lovely as it was an ocean view, the workers were polite and welcoming, and the food was lovely. I would book again as I recommend this hotel.

Water pressure was lacking in the shower in the early morning. Car parking was very restricted when the hotel was busy.

Staf were all very friendly and helpful,, roof was very comfortable and spacious. Food and restaurant /bar service was very good.

Bathroom in need of some TLC - door was difficult to open once closed. Nails had been used to stop wallpaper from peeling off and lots of stains on the carpet but really it just added to the places charm! Was clearly one a very grand hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Price was fab so these little things didn't matter too much to us

That there was bath/shower as I use crutches would have been nice to have walk in shower. Did notice outside bathroom on floor there was a toenail which was not nice to see. Could have been nice for a little packet biscuits to go with the tea/coffee.

The room was nice and big spacious. Liked how there was a little living room. Also the coffee machine was an extra bonus.

The tap in bathroom was very loud when turned on which is if during the day but not in the middle of the night when visiting the loo as it kept waking up my husband in the bedroom. Very dated, stair carpet worn and tape holding it together in places. Draws on bedroom side table opened every time you passed by them due to uneven floor!

No background music in lounge plus bright lights meant lack of atmosphere which was a pity as wall panelling and comfy leather chairs made it look comfy
