This guesthouse is a gem and a fantastic option for all kinds of travellers looking for a good-quality stay at good value, with clean, comfortable rooms and great bathrooms. James and Christine are kind, friendly hosts who go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay, and are always on hand to promptly help out, answer any questions, fix things and make things comfortable, such as providing excellent fans in the rooms during hot weather. They provide useful info on the local area - they let me know before I even arrived on my first night that the local pub wasn't doing food that day, to ensure I didn't go hungry (!). They washed my trekking gear for me and also went out of their way to accommodate me for extra nights at short notice even when they were very busy, including an upgrade to a bigger room at no extra cost. Extra touches include good, secure Wi-Fi, fridges in the rooms so you can keep your snacks and drinks cold, sweet treats and a lovely lounge area and bar. The place has a lovely feel to it and feels safe, especially with key codes on both the front door and each individual room (which also means you don't have to worry about keys or key cards). The location is nice and quiet yet not far from everything. It is just a short walk to the beach and pier, and not much further to the town centre and train and bus stations. I came for a one-night stay and ended up returning twice and staying for about two weeks in total while walking the coast path - and I may well stay again - as with a place and hosts like this and such value for money, especially for me as a solo traveller, it didn't make any sense to stay anywhere else. There may be many accommodation options available in Paignton, but this is definitely the place to be. Thank you for such a great stay, and highly recommended!

The bed was uncomfortable (due to it being a standard mattress). We were on the top floor and the room was very hot, there was a fan but it did not help with the temperature of the room.

James and Stephanie friendly and helpful. The property is clean. They provide towels for the beach and also had lots of board games available to use.

We stayed in a family room. Beautiful decor and layout, amazingly comfortable mattresses (actually slept better than at home on my Emma mattress). There is even a fridge in the room and a bladeless fan which are both welcome additions. Wonderful family run business with families in mind. Lots of games and puzzles to play with and the most welcoming hosts, I cannot recommend this place enough.... The breakfast was absolutely delicious and you could taste the quality of the food too.... James, Christine and family (Teddy is an absolute angel/superstar), you have totally hit the nail on the head as hosts and any family who stays will have a wonderful time just as we have, there is absolutely zero that we could say negatively as everything was perfect. Honestly one of the best places we have ever stopped. James and Christine are amazing hosts, the breakfast was perfect the honesty bar is very reasonably priced and has snacks for the kids. There's loads of board games to play on an evening and the WiFi worked throughout. The room was nice and comfortable and the fridge was brilliant for packed lunches as eating out gets expensive. Lovely clean courtyard and secure rooms.

This is a beautiful b&b. Me and my daughter stayed and can't fault anything. So welcoming , nothing was too much trouble. Spotlessly clean, the facilities were fantastic all you could want and more.It was like home from home. Even James and his wife's children were so polite and more than happy to help. The location is fab, just far away enough from the seafront so no noise but close enough to walk too. I went last year with different owners and all I can say is what James and his family have done( renovated etc) is just beautiful. Lovely garden to sit in, a loyalty bar even stocking ice creams!! You can order food from anywhere throughout the day and eat in the breakfast room using their plates etc provided. I can't praise this b&b enough. I will definitely be back next year just wish it could be this year. So friendly, happy and polite family with a beautiful b&b . The beds were also the comfiest I have slept in , in a b&b .

The room we always have when we stay here had been made into a family room with a double bed and bunk beds. There were only two of us in this room and found it cramped. There were no drawers for t- shirts or underwear. Found that odd.

The host was super friendly and welcoming. He has thought of so many things to make the stay as good as possible. The room was small but had everything we needed plus a fridge. It was a great location and we didn't mind parking in the carpark close by (£10) because the room was cheaper than the travelodgecwe were goingvto stay in and we were aware this might be the case. Importantly for us with bad backs, the bed was comfortable.

Very accommodating owners The place is nicely decorated and each bedroom has got just what you need as a solo traveller. So close to the beach although I didn't manage to get for a walk as I stay one night only. Breakfast was great in the morning. I totally recommend staying at Torbay Guesthouse

The hosts were lovely. Great communication from start to finish. Lovely location, quiet area, so close to the beach. The room was very nice, keyless entry, and simple to use. Breakfast was really good. The value was excellent. Artwork in the room and throughout the property was an added bonus. Will definitely look to book again the next time we're in the area!
