Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEverything was perfect except having frosted window in the bedroom. The room wasn’t overlooked at all, it made the room feel claustrophobic despite it being a large room.
The Dundas is well worth a visit. From the very friendly welcome, lovely surroundings, beautiful outside seating area/garden, to the excellent food. The pub is well laid out, clean and well decorated. The food is excellent and there is a good range of beers, larger, wines and spirits available. The room was clean, well decorated and a very comfy bed. The shower room was large with a selection of toiletries for you to use. Some of the items in the room are quirky, but work well with the situation of the pub. I would definitely recommend this pub.

NetherlandsThe bathroom could use a little attention – some of the lights were not working, the shower rail was a bit loose, and the mirror lamp could do with a good clean. But aside from that, everything was just perfect.
We had a wonderful stay at The Dundas Arms. Our room was very spacious, with lovely armchairs to relax in and a small terrace outside that was perfect for enjoying the sunshine. The bed was large and incredibly comfortable. What really stood out was the team: especially the younger staff, who were super friendly and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. The food and breakfast were excellent, and we truly enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomNo English breakfast tea bags in the room, only earl grey and peppermint which are nice but not for early morning! Only one member of staff in the morning who had to serve breakfast and do the checking out and answering the phone. She was great, friendly and efficient but meant service overall was limited.
Fantastic location right on the canal. Great room had its own terrace to the canal. Good food and beer. Dog friendly. Lovely walks straight from the pub.

BelgiumThe staff was truly friendly. My room by the river was really enjoyable and comfortable. I could hear the river flowing and the ducks chattering. It's definitely a lovely hotel. The kitchen was closed at 7:30 pm, so make sure you get to the dining room on time ;)

A traditional English pub in a lovely setting. We loved being right next to the river with the friendly ducks, the garden, being able to walk from the pub directly along the canal path or around the beautiful village, the general quirkiness, and the friendliness of the staff. The village is quiet and very historic with links to Jane Austen: she used to visit The Old Vicarage as it is where Cassandra’s fiancé lived. We had our breakfasts and a great evening meal at the pub: excellent fare with everything made from scratch from (whenever possible), locally sourced produce.

IndiaThe hotel could be a little less rigid about check in as we could only do so after 3pm even though we arrived at 2.45pm and rooms were ready. A little training of customer service will help and fortunately Dru stepped in to resolve this. The room needs a little attention there isn’t a switch for the exhaust fan in the bathroom and the flowers in the terrace pots have died. The food pricing is somewhat more expensive than I would expect for a pub .
The property is in a fabulous location on a little island between the river and canal. Lovely to see the activity on the canal whilst sitting in the beautiful garden weather permitting. The room was a good size with a terrace overlooking the river . The location is great for walking along the canal and around the village. The train station is just a three minute walk away. It was very convenient for us as we have a friend living just opposite the hotel who we came to visit. The breakfast was excellent and we had a very nice meal in the evening. Dru the manager was very helpful with our check in and made sure we got the same room for the next day since we booked that at check in.
