There was a bit of sewage smell outside which meant we couldn’t leave the patio doors open. Not quite sure what it was.

Did not stay for breakfast but menu look good other customers looked happy with their breakfast meals.

Advise of menu choice at the time of reservation.

The food was good, however, I was disappointed that when friends booked for dinner at 5.30 pm for 7 of us we thought we would get the full menu choice. We were told we had to have the early menu, we should have been told of this at the time of reserving the table.

Very hard pillows which impacted on sleep. We will bring our own pillows when we next stay.

Location between Romsey, Winchester and Salisbury ideal for those exploring the area. Beautiful well-appointed and spotlessly clean room with comfy mattress. Ample parking with private access to rooms from car park. Evening meal excellent with varied menu and really attentive staff. Breakfast was pre-paid with a few choices on the menu. Again, the staff were attentive providing good coffee, tea and juices.

Property is lovely with a modern, old fashion twist so you remember how old this beautiful place is. Room, Pub, restaurant, staff were all great. Food was excellent and it was all homemade quality and you could tell from every bite and every course!

Great atmosphere, great staff, we have 2 dogs and the stay was made more comfortable with the staff engaging with them. Food was also lovely with great choices.

The sink was dirty in the room, also biggest frustration was the WiFi, this connected fine but kept dropping and reconnecting every 30 seconds or so. Tried on 3 devices. Phone connected in bar area fine. Also, possibly linked, was the tv didn’t work, or particularly pictures didn’t, only sound on freeview.

Generally most was good, room to a good standard, booking in/resturant staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Bed was really comfortable. Shower was great. Plenty of seating in bar and restaurant and pleasant outside area too. Great breakfast, lovely dinner. Would definitely return.

We couldn't have ground floor patio doors ope because of security, air conditioning was necessary. Chairs on patio would be more comfortable than stools. Suitcase stand in room should be a must

Lovely pub with well appointed ground floor accommodation. Good good menu served in the evening & for breakfast.

There was no provision for coffee in the room only tea. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked as there was a puddle in one corner of the room at the tap end of the bath/shower, and the plug hole in the bath was full of tissue!

Staff were friendly and very attentive. We took our small dog with us and he was made very welcome too. We had dinner which was freshly cooked and delicious. Lovely ambience in the pub itself. Their are dog beds/towels/water bowls and biscuits in the corridor for guests to use for their dogs. Breakfast was also freshly prepared and again delicious. Love the additional touches of wellington boots and umbrellas which guests can borrow if needed.

Rooms could do with air conditioning as a bit warm on a hot day.

A wonderful place with fantastic breakfast. Very efficient staff. The River Test is a very short walk away. Perfect for the dog!
