United KingdomLack of air conditioning, as whilst a room fan was provided it was quite noisy. Also, the constant asking of name and room number in reception/bar/breakfast area throughout a 5 day stay felt rather impersonal given the relatively small number of rooms.
Beautiful location and hotel provided us with a map of a fantastic 9 mile hike through countryside, small villages and riverside walk return which proved to be the highlight of our entire 2 week Yorkshire break.

United KingdomThe main downside was in the restaurant. I had a steak on my last night that was so tough that I had to leave the half-chewed pieces on the side of the plate. I didn't manage to actually eat any of it. I complained but there was still charged the full amount.
