Staff friendly. Location superb. Room comfortable and clean. Love the complimentary night cap. Dog made very very welcome by all the staff. The well stocked bathroom is great when backpacking in.

Nothing to dislike. Only slight negative is bathroom a bit dated but clean and well stocked.

Breakfast was excellent. Good choice and cooked beautifully. Dinner was excellent too and as it was Supper Club night, excellent value for money too. Can recommend the steak and the duck, although watch out for the chillies on that one.

Coffee machine is a bit basic and no decaffeinated choice, although the waitress supplied decaffeinated coffee bags when asked.

Excellent dog friendly location for visiting the area, with friendly welcoming staff. The room was sensibly equipped. The cooked breakfast choice was excellent, and the dinner menu had a good choice of meals at sensible prices.

The view from room 8 was over the dustbin courtyard and the back of the kitchen - to be avoided! Dinner service the first night was extremely slow and took 1 hr 45 mins for two courses - having had to chase the food both times. We ate elsewhere the second night.

The staff and food were excellent. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and approachable and made our stay special. Wish I had taken the ladies names. The location is perfect and the food was excellent. We could tell it was all home cooked and we throughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast.

Sadly the family room wasn’t great. All the beds were so uncomfortable, in particular the double bed. It creaked with every move and kept us all awake a lot during the night, Infact my husband ended up in the bottom bunk bed half the night because it was so unbearable and very small for two adults. The shower screen in the kids bedroom wouldn’t stay back so we had to hold it whilst having a shower. The pressure of both showers was rubbish too, as was the Wi-Fi during our whole stay. Staff were brilliant but the hotel was tired and shabby.

Breakfast was poor. There was no hot milk and when it came there was no water for coffee in the machine. I was told would have to wait 15,minutes for hot milk. Poached eggs were hard boiled. No porridge or muesli. No nice bread or croissants. I took a pair which was bad. Yoghurtwwere pasteurised I asked for pancakes and fruit and cream,on the menu but was told at 9am had run out of cream. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good sleep. It was my parents birthday and they kindly brought a bottle of prosecco to our room which was really nice.

See above. Also dinner was poor. There was no duck which was on the menu so I asked for chicken and salad. The salad leaves were brown and I had to ask for more. It really wasn't a salad it was just leaves and a little bit of pepper thrown in No salad dressing offered until I asked.
