Great location , nice rooms and the restaurant was good food and service. Nice Scottish highlands vibe

Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Efficient staff and lovely dinning room.

Bedroom needed attention to ledges and edges for a dust or wipe.

Loved the decor and the friendly staff. Breakfast was fabulous. Spanish receptionist was very welcoming and helpful.

Upgrade to executive double was much appreciated. Although the room was lovely it could be improved with a king sized bed and a full length mirror near a socket to dry your hair, no mirror near a socket.

Put into a room with our dog up near the roof. Had to end up going outside at midnight as our dog was overheating.

Room not ready on arrival despite arriving after check in at a time I specified. Was given a coffee in lounge whilst waiting which arrived having spilt into saucers which were full of coffee; had to ask for a napkin to mop it up. No one came to tell us when room was ready; had to revisit reception whereupon the receptionist said it was ready and she thought we were still enjoying sitting in the lounge so didn't bother to notify us! Found a half tablet on the bedroom floor which our dog picked up and, thankfully, spat out again. Food was not as advertised on the menu; indeed the waiting staff advised me that the smoked salmon did not come on bruschetta, and complaints had been made, but I gamely ordered it. She was correct; it was on a piece of very hard white 'value' toast which I left. Breakfast was similarly mis-advertised; I ordered porridge with berries, and asked which berries I might get. The waiting staff said 'forest fruits' which surprised me a there are not a huge number of fruits growing in forests other than brambles. I asked was it brambles, and was told 'they're like brambles'. In fact it was another very sweet fruit compote which I had already told the waitress was too sweet for me, as I am diabetic. The relentless Scottish music playing throughout the public rooms was hardly relaxing. The guests above us left before 6 am and before leaving walked around for more than an hour, on creaky floorboards, keeping us awake from around 4.30 am until 6 am. Very gloomy lounge, which other guests remarked upon. I think it's more of a 'coach party' hotel. I thought if I heard 'No worries' one more time from staff, I may scream!! We will not return.

It’s very Scottish !! Very traditional !! The problem comity of the hotel to everything else in the town is a real bonus Foid in the chillies bar was excellent
