The bed was extremely comfy! A breakfast was nice and tasty, especially homemade muffins and fresh fruits!

The location, the high standards

Beautiful stay at the Chudleigh, excellent hospitality, and fantastic breakfast. I stayed for one night with my 5 year old, and the large double room was perfect for us, great location, lovely bath. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Although the linen and cushions were very comfortable, the mattress was a tiny bit too firm for my personal preference.

Excellent guest house. Friendly owners and staff. Very comfortable room with many facilities. Delicious breakfast with huge choice. Best we've stayed at for many years. Great location and value for money. Sadly we were only there for two nights to see the airshow.

Lovely bed linen, duvets and pillows. Very comfy beds. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with excellent fresh fruit. Friendly staff. Handy parking in the front.

The smell in the room! The carpet was damp so I suspect it had been just cleaned but there was an overpowering smell (chemicals? Something soaked into the carpet?) in the room which actually kept waking us in the night. Truly horrible which was a shame because everything else about the place was lovely, even down to the drinks and treats left in the room.

Everything. Location, cleanliness, attention to detail, comfortable, spacious well equipped room. Attentive manager concerned about her guests. In my opinion, the best hotel in the coastal area of Clacton on Sea.

Nothing other than we were only there for the one night.

We took a family trip to celebrate my son's 7th birthday. 10 of us in the group and all very happy with our rooms. Carol was very welcoming and helpful, especially when I forgot plates and a knife to cut the cake in the lounge :) A lovely breakfast cooked by Peter and lots of fresh fruit and juice available. The location was perfect, 2 mins walk to the pier. My son said it was his best birthday ever and enjoyed his own space in our family room. Very clean and beds cosy.

Hosts and staff were amazing, so welcoming. Our room was an excellent size, very clean and everything provided The whole stay was amazing

Lots of extras were available in the room. It had it's own air cooler, and small fridge. Coffee and tea facilities were plentiful with biscuits, lots of refills and everything you need. It was super clean with a bath. The bed was brilliantly comfy, freshly washed linen and amazing plumped pillows. Staff were super friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful flowers at the front of the property welcomed you. The breakfast was efficient, plentiful and the fruit portions were very generous with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and peaches. The full cooked breakfast was delicious and my partner really enjoyed the scrambled eggs. The owner Carol even helped to ring us a taxi when others were not available. Loved all of the staff and you can tell they loved working there. Great place! If we come back to the area, we only want to stay here - all aspects were perfect. Thanks ever so much.

Nothing, that's how good it was.

The most warm welkom with great sense of humor! The owners are such lovely people, you feel right at home! Special notification for the rooms: this is absolutely highest standard with attention to detail: perfect pillow, high quality cotton satin woven sheets, separate washcloths, special eye make-up remove cloth, lovely cookies and chocolate at the tea cabin, thick curtains, etc etc. From all my hotel visits, this would be an excellent example for others. I missed the breakfast due to early leave, but also this was being taken care of. Warmest regards

All was very good

The property was great for our stay . The Room(3) was a double and quite large with a comfortable bed and pillows were great , had a great nights sleep. The bathroom had a bath and a shower and both worked great .Breakfast was great and very filling .

Clean, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Pristine bedding and towels

My bedroom was on the second floor with steep stairs,difficult at my age with a suitcase. Bedroom was very hot and the fan provided wasn't very effective. A boiler and or water pipes were incredibly noisy, waking me up at 5.30am and continuing to rumble on

Free parking, easy check in, attentive staff, clean & tidy, wide range of breakfast & drink options, English breakfast cooked to perfection & well presented, calming background music during breakfast at the perfect volume. Old school guest house with all the extra little bits & bobs provided in the room.

Top floor single room extremely warm however a fan was provided prior to my arrival. The furniture & decor is dated but it's maintained well.
