Great location, helpful staff and a decent sized room with a comfortable bed. Felt very at home my whole stay and would 100% recommend the hotel for a solo traveller who enjoys having their own space.

Very minor but there were a couple of dinks on the wall - probably people knocking their cases around.

Gorgeous room with stylish ensuite. The location of the townhouse was perfect, lots of amazing places to eat and drink nearby plus very quick into Edinburgh. The host was so warm and friendly, she gave us some great recommendations. It was convenient to have a pin code rather than a key to access. Would love to stay again.

I didn't book a long enough stay.

From start to finish I had an excellent experience. Helpful, informative initial messages with the option of a secure luggage store prior to check in but when I arrived to drop off my luggage my room was ready early for me to check in. Lovely thoughtful touches including cold bottled water as well as Laura Thomas Co Forest bathroom range. Slept so well on a Hypnos mattress with a hot water high pressure shower and spotlessly clean. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and coffee shop but quiet residential area. Look forward to a return visit.

There is no way to store your luggage apart from between 11:00 and 15:00. I would not have expected this from a hotel of this sort and at this price. I really think this would make the stay smoother as we had to run to the train station to the lockers there for 15 pounds per bag for a few hours, before heading into town and then back to the train station before our flight.

The managers of the property were very welcoming and helpful!

Hotel room was spotless clean and of a great size. The location was perfect for exploring Edinburgh and dinner/drinks. Communication with Katryn was super good and she was very responsive. Will most certainly come back.

Some spots on the shower tray and on the walls in the bathroom. The faucets are close to the sink making it difficult to fit your hands under the stream of water. Noise from passing cars in the street was loud.

The sofa bed was probably slightly too small for our two kids to share now they are getting older. Younger ones would be fine! We were a bit chilly on the first evening as our space was on the lower ground floor however, there were 2 plug in radiators there so that was ok.

It was very quiet in the accommodation and just inside the building entrance was an honesty tray of drinks that welcomed you. We didn’t have one but appreciate the offer! There was a kettle and plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate sachets, biscuits and Tunnock treats. The shower was powerful and hot. There were 2 big TV’s, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom. They had all the channels including Netflix. There was a large space for clothes and luggage cases in the bedroom. On checking out we were offered to keep our luggage in the office for the day which was really kind and helpful.

From the moment we booked the Broughton Townhouse, Karen was welcoming and responsive to messages. She advised us of free parking in the surrounding streets on weekends and recommended where to visit and eat. On arrival, there was a selection of beverages to help yourself to (being respectful to other guests) as well as snacks and water. The room was great value for money, slightly dated but clean, and plenty of charm. The rooms were very easy to access with a code and the location was ideal for getting to the playhouse and waverly station with some wonderful restaurants and bars close by. We will chose this again on our next trip to Edinburgh.

This stay is on the more expensive side, so perhaps bathroom facilities could be updated, ie shower that doesn't have to be hand held, even over a bath?

No breakfast. I ended up liking having what felt like private access in and out, via keypad. It was refreshingly different to a hotel. I liked the decor. And architectural design of the property. It was nice to be offered drinks gratis in the entrance.

The room is quite small, which was clearly stated from the beginning and didn’t bother me personally. However, some people might find it uncomfortable. There was also a very strong room fragrance used, so we had to fully open the window for a while to air it out.

A very cute place with a friendly host. The room is cozy and clean. The sound insulation isn’t perfect, but since there aren’t many people in the townhouse, it usually isn’t a problem - unless you’re especially unlucky. There’s no elevator, but our luggage was kindly carried upstairs, which was very thoughtful. We also arrived before the official check-in time, and they cleaned our room faster so that we could check in earlier. Much appreciated!

Some lovely touches in the room... toiletries, bath robe, drinks and treats. Comfy, warm bed. Nicely decorated. Helpful staff....although you don't see them.
