We loved the extremely high standards and quality of the hotel, as well as the bar and restaurant and free entry to the castle grounds.

The continental breakfast was a little sparse. Only three cereals and the fruit salad was just slices of apple.

A quiet spot in a very pretty village. The room was nicely furnished with everything you could need. The staff were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere in the dining room. The English breakfast was very good.

Breakfast was just ok, I had eggs benedict, eggs were hard and sauce was very sharp, not to my taste.

Lovely comfy bed and room was lovely and clean.

It was quite warm when we visited and the room did not have air conditioning. The hotel provided a small fan but it was inadequate to cool the room. As is apparently common in the UK, the bathtub was very tall, it would be a challenge for anybody with mobility issues to get in and out.

Beautiful setting for hotel in castle village, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, professional staff

Can’t say there was anything we didn’t like.

Lovely old property with superb customer service. Bedroom was comfortable, clean and even had a bed and bowls provided for our dog (with a couple of treats waiting for him). Breakfast was lovely and they even offered a sausage for our dog. It’s so lovely to find somewhere that really does cater for your pet too. We ate in the pub in the evening and food again was lovely.

We would have preferred to have been in the main building but the room we had was more than satisfactory

Location mainly. But there was something about an old coaching inn about the place. The staff were also very good- attentive and helpful.

There was no fridge in the room but this is a minor point. The staff were only too happy to put my medicine in their fridge so it wasn't a huge problem. In the room there was an iron, ironing board and hairdryer and a fan for the warm nights.

The staff were so friendly and helpful they made our stay really enjoyable. The food was excellent too, we could recommend the cauliflower steak and beef pie but the ox cheeks were one of the nicest meals we've had!
