Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWindow didn't fully close so very noisy. Thick layers of dust and grime. Bed comfortable just about passable. Very worn areas all over the hotel, piles of sawdust around. Not many PowerPoint in the room. It is perfectly acceptable that they are a dry hotel due to religion but this should be more obvious when booking. Claustrophobic lifts. Photos on website far exceeded really look.
Friendly staff. Good lo location. Upgraded to beach view. Parking spot in front of hotel. Dance lessons, unfortunately we missed it though.

United KingdomThe hotel was a little rundown, but the beds and bathroom were clean. The double bed was small, I had to share with my daughter as it would be too small for 2 adults.
We liked the fact that dogs were welcomed. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was conveniently located for quieter beaches and a grassed area to walk the dogs.

AustraliaOld hotel, limited facilities. Courtyard from our room 2 birds remained overnight, making noise, obviously out of the hotels control, but this triggered a husky to howl, disturbing other dogs. Again, this is uncontrollable by staff but they did try to rectify.
The location is good and dog friendly.

United KingdomDisgusting, Horrendous smell of wet dog. Shake and vac sprinkled everywhere and not hoovered up trying to disguise the smell but not working. Really strong smell that was in the room and corridors. The button to call the lift to floor 2 doesn’t work, we were on floor 2 with a baby and a pram and needed the lift. One adult had to go downstairs to press take the lift up to floor 2 and then down to reception. But no good when only one adult present had to bump the pram down the stairs to floor 1 and then get the lift. Frequently asked asked questions suggest you cannot pre book car parking, it states first come first served. I parked on arrival and was told that space was booked. When questioned was told you can only book if your staying 3 or 4 nights. I was staying 3 nights. Had to move car and pay locally. If I knew I had to pre book car parking I would have done so as we had a lot of luggage and a small baby, pram, travel cot travel high chair and luggage to unload and load at the end of our stay.
Good location and seas view. Friendly welcoming staff on reception. Clean bedding and bathroom.

United KingdomBlood and snot smeared on the bathroom walls, dust or some form of debris in the bed, windows that look like they've never seen a cloth, corridors are filthy with ill fitted and ragged carpets and I had the privilege of paying £180 a night for this, without breakfast! I've stayed in hostels that are cleaner than this! We stayed the previous night in the Great Western across the road, for less money, in a bigger, cleaner, better equipped room, with breakfast included. Do yourselves a favour and book in there instead. Avoid this dump

United KingdomIt's a shame it's lost its former grandeur. There was some questioning over my room which I booked as a double is in fact listed as a single with a double bed - it made me question my booking over booking.com but it was what I booked.
The view over the beach was incredible, especially as I was top floor. The room was tired but clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were really helpful especially with advice for the Boardmasters weekend.

United KingdomThe hotel as other have said is very tired and could have been cleaner. I think that due to prices being inflated due to the festival it didn’t feel like good value for money as I’ve paid less for a much higher standard and I wouldn’t return unless it was much cheaper.
We booked this hotel on the day and there was very limited availability in Newquay and due to a festival being held in the town prices were highest than usual. The staff at check in were helpful and advised us of parking nearby as all the hotel parking was full. They also allowed us to check in early which was was really helpful. We had a sea view and the view was lovely. All staff we dealt with were very friendly. It’s in a good location.

United KingdomFelt very dirty with stained carpets and walls. Rusty towel rail and weak shower. Window was also not cleaned (had a foggy cover from sea breeze), had to clean it ourselves Extortionate price for that you get.
Amazing view of the sea from the third floor! Decent bed, has all you need for a couple nights. Staff tried to be helpful when we asked for relocation but the other room smelt like feet. Highlight of the room was the seagull that would visit our window
