The pub is a little outdated and the outside windows could do with a clean but inside is very clean.

I was so surprised by this hotel. When I booked I thought it may be noisy at night being a pub in town but quite the opposite, it was very peaceful despite my room overlooking the town centre. The place is in a great location within walking distance of the town centre, its clean and comfortable, the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, included in the rate and they have vegetarian options. The extra little touches such as toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities are always a great addition too. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, they had no issues with me continuing to work onsite for a couple of hours on check out day.

Pub and communal stairs look jaded.

Nice room. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was great, really good cook. Shame the pub didn’t do lunch.

The stairs were quite tricky to navigate and the bed was quite hard

I really liked the space particularly the size of the bathroom. I thought it was great that I got free parking as well and really enjoyed the bottled water in the room lots of places do tea and coffee but as I don’t drink those I enjoyed the addition of the water

No fault of the hosts, but there was only 1 window which means you need a light on during your stay.

My Room (104) was perfect. A huge bed, great amount of space in both the Room and the Bathroom. Plugs/USB sockets next to the bed, and on the working area (which I needed as I had my laptop). A nice touch was having bottled water and biscuits with the Tea & Coffee facilities. An iron is in the room too. The shower was excellent. And the room was very clean too.

Parking was a bit annoying as it's a five min walk away but everything else was fine

Decent hotel in a good location, the bar area had us scared as it was quite dated but the room was big, clean and comfortable and staff were helpful and friendly.

Noise from outside, only 2 teabags but 8 milk. Very steep steps to room. Buffet breakfast very sparse, no bread, croissants. Breakfast continued until 10.30 we were there at 9.30 and it was not being restocked. Sports bar volume on TV when we arrived and had to wait to get our keys.

Clean room, fluffy towels, good shower, tea and coffee and water. Comfy bed. Cooked breakfast very good.

One roman blind didnot go up and down quite as it should however apart from that everything was perfect.

The room was very clean and the hospitality tray included bottled water biscuits and plenty of milk .The air conditioning was wonderfully cool and the double glazing on the windows meant it was very quiet. Very nice comfortable bed and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Didn't like the shower as it was a ceiling fitting but lovely hot water. Room a little small and a bit dark.

Offers a good breakfast, free parking at a nearby multi storey car park so be aware if you have a tall car.

The decor in the main areas is a little tired but I understand that it's a work in progress since being bought, as I could gather, from Wetherspoons.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It's on the market square in the centre of town and yet no noise at night, and we were there over a weekend. The room was a good size and the bed extremely comfortable. Nicely decorated and modern with a good overhead shower. The wardrobe had 6 hangers so you may need to take some of your own, but this applies to most hotels generally. There is air conditioning all over the hotel and in the bedrooms which was an absolute godsend ! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was included which was very good, with cereals, yoghurts, toast etc to help yourself to and a good choice of cooked breakfast . For the cost this hotel is excellent and we would definitely stay again. We were on the second floor and there were quite a lot of stairs to the room, probably equivalent to two normal flights but with a landing area between. For those with limited mobility, the first floor rooms are up three steps to a landing, then five steps to a further landing and then another five steps to the first floor rooms. Decently wide and good tread area. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor, other toilets are a short way upstairs.

Was hard to think about and all I could come up with is there were no bake beans with my breakfast even though I would have battled even more to finish it

The history was great but we're very impressed and surprised by our room. Was adequately big enough with a big bathroom/shower.
