How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Bar prices very steep.£7 for a cider. Lacklustre cheese n biscuits with no butter offered. Limited menu. Eat in town.See above.
Clean room en suite. Lift Excellent spa and pool facility 10 minute walk into suburb of West Bridgford hosting good cafes and restaurants

The walls between rooms 15 and 11 are very thin. This was exacerbated by a very noisy couple in room 11 who talked very loudly between 10:30 until after midnight . We had travelled up from Devon that day and obviously were very tired! The night - duty manager , Mark , was extremely helpful and after my husband went down to reception to complain, Mark promptly dealt with the situation and all was resolved!
The location is brilliant! We both loved room 15 - the room was big, as was the bed and we really appreciated the A/C!!

Room was small and too warm with insufficient ventilation. Corridors narrow.
Friendly welcome and free parking. Good pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Good bar and restaurant. Well located near river and an easy walk into West Bridgford

Bed was too firm/hard. Shower didnt have a shelve to put you shower gel on. Very loud traffic from the road if you have a front room, kept waking up at night. We did find that the window wasnt fitted properly in our room though (room 19), it had about a 5mm gap even when closed so you could hear more noise outside than you should, so that should be adjusted correctly.
The buffet style breakfast was really good and the spa facilities were a nice option to have which we used in the morning. Plenty of free parking, just have to give reception your car reg when checking in.

The restaurant menu for kids was a bit restricted
The pool and gym were really good. The restaurant was very spacious. The rooms had everything we needed. Staff very friendly.

The only slight niggle was a noisy ventilation pipe outside our window which started very early couldn’t close the window as it was too warm, a fan was kindly provided but this was also noisy. The only other thing was hearing all the glass bottles being emptied at 06.30 in the morning. We do understand though that they do have a business to run and these things need to be done.
The hotel was ideally located as we were going to Trent Bridge, the staff we absolutely lovely and very friendly and the hotel was spotless.

Pool is small.

The gym opens 9am on Sunday. It would be better if it were open at 8am. Not a great range of drinks in the bar.

Only window you could open was in the en-suite bathroom.
Comfortable clean room despite being only a single. Room very hot. Fan provided but a window would have been preferable. Did not eat in hotel so can not comment on food.
