The bed was so uncomfortable . Has definitely seen its day . 8 years its ready for the tip to be recycled. I could feel all the springs. Radiators in bathroom and room not working . Batteries flat in the remote for TV. Could hear next door all night. Found hard to fill the kettle with water. Tea bags looked dirty and in a box full of dust . Would be better with sealed tea bags not open loose ones. No Hair dryer but thats minor. Dirt from outside transfered into the room no mat to wipe feet when entering . A rain storm had flooded the area and there was lots of dirt out side the room door. No outside light when coming to the rooms on eve so was a little dark when going back from meal. No breakfast in the morning. No food in afternoon when arriving at 14.30. Eve food at 17.00pm No where in the area close to get lunch so long drive to Hastings after we had driven for 5 hours we needed refreshments of some sort .

The ease of location to my destination to train on the Sunday was great. Dog freindly and great view. Food on the eve was really nice.

A little bit run down, but good value still

Shame there's no breakfast and that the windows faced the beer garden, but such a lovely village.

Toilet seat partial broken. Bathroom light flickered badly, made my eyes go funny. Basin sink waste blocked so would not empty. Tea & coffee facility but no cups or spoons to make it in. Beadspread ripped. Main entry door would not stay closed without locking it.

Clean but challenging for solo women travellers

I wouldn’t recommend for solo women travellers. Ground floor, wide bathroom window with easy access and patio door leading to tiny patio (no table or chairs!) and then the tables of the pub garden right there. They can look into your room as if you’re the entertainment. Really off putting. It was a hot summer’s day but I ended up with curtain drawn from 8:30pm. The shower had minimal pressure, it kept cutting out and only cold water. Bracing was fine because it was hot weather but whichever way you turned the dial there was still no warm water on offer.

A member of staff took me down to the room. There was a tea making area and fridge. The room was spacious. It was clean. There’s a lovely view of the hills from the pub garden and I had a nice Caesar salad there.

The beds were uncomfortable and mattresses really need replacing. Our room smelt of cigarette smoke which was not pleasant. The walls were very thin & we could hear conversations in neighbouring rooms & there was noise from the pub until very late.

The staff were friendly, the rooms looked nice & the views were stunning.

We were hoping to eat at the hotel. But they had a party on. I suppose that was bad timing on our part. Our room was described as a garden room but only had a view of the hedge. A little disappointing. I felt it was a little overpriced as breakfast was not provided.

The refurbished bathroom was great. Good shower.

The curtain hanging off the rail, no TV remote, the towels were old and had what looked lie bleach patches and the bed was lumpy. A little more attention to detail and the rooms would be as good as they used to be!

The shower room is a nice size, separate tea making area and the view from the bedroom amazing The bathroom now has a blind and a soap dispenser which was welcome. The dog was welcome for an extra £10 and there is near by footpaths for dog exercising.

Two badly warped laminate floor boards in Room 2, (risen approx. 2"-3" high in places) which ran the whole length of the room were a serious trip hazard. Not enough warm bedding. No TV remote so only able to view one channel No outside lighting along pathway leading to the motel bedrooms

The staff were very friendly and the food was good 'pub' grub
