Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bedrooms are barely maintained. The floors are really really dirty, my room had some sticky something which made your shoes stick to the floor. There's no privacy curtains. The tampon boxes in the bathroom are over flowing even though I saw the staff cleaning the bathrooms daily. The sink setup is awful!!- would be great to move the paper towels to between the 2 sinks and the trash can to outside the bathroom door. The jam up trying to was your hands while others are trying to brush teeth, wash face, do make up etc is HORRENDOUS. Putting up a make-up mirror area outside the bathroom with a shelf would be a game changer! Just some ideas. The hot water is iffy, and takes a long long time to come up, but not much can be done there I take it- so cold showers on occasion (or almost your whole stay) it is! While I understand people are traveling and checking in whenever they arrive, it would be really considerate if people checking in after 10pm would be made to unpack the following day. Perhaps they are made to take just bare necessities out, and leave their bags in the holding area until the morning... My room had multiple people check in late into the night, which was extremely disruptive, one person even unpacked allllll her luggage- it was past 1am!!! So even though there's a quiet hours posting, it's only enforced for extreme or obvious disruptions. That really needs to be reevaluated.
It's a nice hostel overall. Easy to get around the high points of the city, staff is very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is quite nice and the feel is cozy, almost like being at home. The added breakfast was really nice, and the music made the vibe really nice in the am. My favorite part of my stay was breakfast hours.

VietnamThe shared bathroom is smaller than I expected. The number of bathrooms and toilets is acceptable, but during the peak hours there is a lack of personal space for hygiene for a huge number of guests.
The hostel is located in the heart of the city. It is just a couple of minutes from the train station and bus station. There are many bus stops outside the hostel as well. There is a self-catering kitchen with free continental breakfast for guests. The staff are helpful and hospitable to guests.

PolandBe mindfull that there are 3 levels of beds. The towels and padlocks can be rented for extra charge. There are sometimes queues for showers and toilets, and very often at the sinks, as they are not very conveniently located. All of it is still manageable.
The hostel has a great location just few minutes from the train station and in walking distance to all main attractions. I think it is the only hostel I lived in which provides breakfast - there are toasts, jams, cereals and eggs available. There is a common room with 24/7 tea/coffee. The staff is very helpfull with any issue or question. You can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out. The rooms are quite modern and clean. Even though the hostel is very central, and there is a bar in the same building, there is no noise.

UruguayThe bathrooms are very tiny, it could get crowded and it could be uncomfortable sometimes. And having to carry the luggage 2 stories through a spiral staircase can be challenging.
It was really clean and well taken care of. The staff was very kind and friendly. The bed were comfortable. Having breakfasts included is a great thing.

IndonesiaThe bedroom is not very clean, but it's okay. The bunk bed is not comfortable the head space is too low, we can't even sit up on the bed. This is my first time trying a triple bunk bed, and it’s not a good idea. .
Great location, super clean bathroom and breakfast area. All the staff are very friendly, especially the female staff (sorry I forgot their names). They were kind and easy to talk to.

CanadaThe stairs to get to the hostel were not very clean, the bathroom were also no clean, they were probably only cleaning them once or twice a day, which wasn't enough. The communal area is very small and feels crowded when everyone is trying to make breakfast.
You can walk everywhere from here are is only 2 mins away from the train station. Breakfast was good. The reception works 24 hours. The room was comfortable and clean.

Staff are incredibly friendly. Breakfast is alright, but nothing special. Rooms are a wee bit small - most of the beds were empty though so no problem for me, but I imagine it might be tough if it was busy.

United Statesit is next to a construction site so it is very noisy, there was a homeless outside the hostel, the hostel is in the second floor and there is no elevator if you carry bags, the cleaniness is not that good, my room smelled a bit like pee unfortunately, the bathroom is so small that just 1 person can wash their hands at a time in the entire hostel. They could put some effort in making the breakfast more nutricious (I do not mean more expensive, just nutricious, bread, batter and cereal do not give any nutricional value alone)
location is amazing! close to everything . Staff is so sweet and helpful, they are amazing!

HungaryThe hostel might want to have a word with the night club next door (rear of property I’m guessing)… staff laughing and joking at 4am in the morning at the top of their voices is a big no no!
Staff were very helpful and welcoming on arrival with a very speedy check in process. The rooms were immaculate and my bed was unbelievably comfortable. Despite my injured foot I was able to get in and out of the middle bunk with ease; I was very pleased about that.

GermanyIt would be great to have shelves in the bathroom for putting clothes there instead of floor. Also, adding an extra sink would be nice as this space is a bit crowded.
We stayed there only for one night but it's a really nice hostel. Perfect location in the city center. Very friendly and helpful staff. Even though, beds in dorms have 3 'levels', they are very solid and you dont feel any movements. There is a complimentary breakfast, as well as coffee and tea.

The free breakfast was a great treat. The bed was comfortable and the location was brilliant right in the city centre. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was also pretty good value. Finally it was also very safe which is important for a young female solo traveler..
