Slightly dated, in an old part of the town

Very clean and comfortable. Claire made us very welcome from the start. Rooms were basically furnished, but with thoughtful extras, including a mini fridge, quality biccys, teas, coffee and water. Bus stop right outside front door. Breakfast was freshly made to order and was of a high standard. Private entrance for guests so that you didn’t have to walk through bar if you didn’t want to or between opening hours.

- Pillows to soft and would of preferred harder/additional pillows - Fridge was noisy so had to be turned off over night - could hear every door being opened/closed on the floor

- Ideal location to where I wanted to stay - Lovely room, loads of ‘freebies’ - fridge was ideal - comfortable/soft bed - Hosts were lovely and showed me to my room/tour upon arrival - ‘early’ breakfast (on a Sunday) was perfect especially with my early morning event - Overally great stay and will definitely book again!

We couldn't fault it

The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and there was tea, coffee and biscuits. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was AMAZING! The staff were lovely and so friendly. We wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Diolch yn fawr iawn, perffaith 😊

The exit was a bit impersonal and would have liked to have said thank you and good bye, in person rather than by review,as we had to leave via the fire escape .

From the outside it doesn't look great, but one inside it's a completely different experience.

I've never stayed in such a friendly place. The owners could have made us feel more welcome.

A more personal check-in, although the text exchanges were very friendly.

Clean and friendly, very good value for money. Slightly remote location suited me very well - very close to the Heads of the Valleys road, itself an excellent driving experience. Also not far from attractions like the Bannau Brycheiniog, Ystradfellte etc, and of course industrial South Wales.

Nothing really - if anything the bed was a little soft and springy, which doesn’t bother me but isn’t my husbands favourite.

Excellent value for money, room was spacious, well stocked tea tray and free water. Breakfast was lovely and included in the cost of the room. Big parking area behind the hotel, plenty of room. We visited so my husband could go to bike park wales and as others have said he was able to store his bike inside the breakfast area which is more secure than being left in the car. Overall a great stay, we wanted to check in later than 9pm and the owners made sure they were still there to welcome us. Would stay again if I was in the area.

Lovely welcome from Neil and Claire the owners. Showed to our room and all facilities. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it for another day. Made to feel part of the family. The bar food was amazing. Great value for money and so much!!!! Great nase for expliring the area too. Easy access to all areas. Even the locals in the bar are so helpful. Will definitely be back when in this neck of the woods again. Thank you both for making us feel so welcome.

Made to feel so welcome from arrival to checking out. Thank you Claire and Neil with easy check in and with parking options no problem. Breakfast was amazing, didn't need to eat lunch.
