What a wonderful place to stay. By far the best b and b we have stayed in. Gail and Dave were exceptional hosts . So welcoming and had some great conversations with them. We met Gail’s dad who gave us a few ideas on places to visit. Nice bloke. The food was 5 star. If you are in the area looking to book somewhere I guarantee you will find no better than the anchorage. Room was excellent with the bonus of an upstairs lounge area for guests. 👍👍 The hosts made us great snacks while we were watching England ladies win the euros final. Brilliant

Nothing - the whole experience was absolutely fabulous

Everything exceeded my expectations. Gail could not have been kinder or more helpful if she tried. The whole experience was excellent. Wifi was outstanding - the best I have had - it was like being at home with all the home comforts I have to hand. Much cleaner than home though!

The Anchorage far exceeded our expectations! Breakfast was amazing, we had a bedroom and a living room all to ourselves, with a wonderful view out of every window. And it was close to the ferry for our morning departure. Truly an exceptional stay.

Nothing at all. Everything was perfect

What an exceptionally good B&B the Anchorage is. Everything about it is top class. The bedroom was spacious; the bed was extremely comfortable; the breakfast in the morning was top-notch. There are so many perfect little touches that just elevate the Anchorage above your normal B&B. Gail, the host is so welcoming and friendly; she makes you feel like part of the family as soon as she greets you. A stunning B&B, and we will definitely use the Anchorage again if we are in the area.

There was nothing to dislike

The rooms are exceptional. They are equipped with everything you need. Fittings, furniture, bedding towels are all high quality. Everything is spotless & well presented. Rooms are large & nicely decorated. Also rooms including, the lounge has wonderful views. Hosts are so very welcoming & hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Will be returning,

Honestly can’t think of anything that was below par. Really lovely stay.

Gail was a fabulous host, and greeted us with a welcoming pot of tea and biscuits. The room was clean and super comfortable. Plus the added bonus of an additional lounge area!

Gail gave us a really warm and friendly reception and instantly made us feel at home. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had everything you could need for a perfect stay. The location is great and there are wonderful views. Breakfast was amazing too. The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer. Perfect!!

Very limited dinner eating options within 10 mile radius.

Well equipped, modern, clean and spacious en-suite bedroom with separate large shared lounge. Great Breakfast fresh and cooked to order. Highly recommend for overnight.

A wonderful Host. Right from the moment of booking a great communicator. The accommodation is just fantastic. Comfortable bed good sized room. A general guest area, perfect for relaxing after a day of enjoying the North of Scotland. Must not forget a fantastic breakfast. Easy to find and great views of the tip of Scotland. I will certainly make a return visit.

Luxurious and warm and welcoming. Gail is a fantastic and kind and understanding host. Exceptional and comfortable bed, room and bathroom, great facilities to relax, and a delicious breakfast cooked by Gail. Breakfast looking across the Pentland Firth to the Orkneys…nice. One of the best places I’ve stayed - totally unexpected and what a treat!

The room was outstanding and we also had the use of the entire floor with a sitting area and TV, as well as one in the bedroom. Our host, Gail could not have done more for us. Breakfast was excellent. There was also a mini fridge with fresh milk for tea/coffee and a supply of sweet treats included. The property was easy to find and convenient for an overnight stay prior to getting the ferry to Orkney. Gail is the host that everyone should aspire to be like!
