Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo instructions for aircon, so I simply turned it off. Musak at breakfast was too loud and overbearing on first morning, but they toned it down for second and third mornings.
Good cooked breakfast. Good sized room with river view.

United KingdomImpossible to find the hotel in the dark - no light on the sign on the road and unhelpful directions were given when I called, as they applied to a different approach road. Sorry, but this needs a MUCH more obvious clearly illuminated Hotel sign if they want people not to arrive in a calm frame of mind, and not extremely irritated as I was. Because the location is near a bridge and several road junctions a location map on the hotel website might also be helpful.
Breakfast was good, my room in separate building was conveniently near my parked car.

United KingdomNo elevator. Hotel a bit tatty as it looks like no investment is being put back into the property. Shame as the position of the hotel on the river is excellent and could be used to its advantage. The outside area is excellent. The hotel is just standing without direction.
Reasonable food. Excellent service by staff.

Superb value for money. Comfortable bed and room with all the facilities needed on business travel. Staff were very friendly throughout. Lovely views of the Thames from the restaurant and the outside seating area.

United KingdomThe bedroom could do with better lighting above mirror but otherwise very good. Was overcharged in restaurant for lunch but was immediately rectified. Breakfast a bit disorganised again having to chase for top ups of items.
Room was very nice and location is good. The hotel is very clean, spotless in fact.

United KingdomA little far from the town and train station especially when carrying luggage.
Loved the room. Had a little balcony with great side view of the river and bridge. Stayed during a warm weekend and therefore welcomed the good air conditioning. Breakfast was buffet style, was good and plentiful.

United KingdomI walk with a stick due to pain and had requested a ground floor room, if no lift. I’d also enquired about disabled parking. On arrival I was informed I was up on the second floor, with 4 sets of stairs to climb. The hotel had no lift. Climbing out of the bath after a shower was very slippery and challenging for a person with mobility/balance difficulties. A handle on the wall and an optional rubber bath anti-slip mat would be appreciated.
Good location, next to the beautiful river. There was space to park. The staff were friendly. Close to the Odney Club in Cookham, where we were performing.

United KingdomWe upgraded to executive room as my husbands 60th. Nice size room, bathroom not one shelf or cabinet to put any toiletries on...strange as nice size bathroom. Also was on second floor, no lift, fair enough, but no porters to help us with luggage!
Nice staff on reception at check in, Parking only £3.50 a night. Great location view from room lovely overlooking the river.

United KingdomRoom was reasonably comfortable, but had no fridge. Dining room rather soulless, and - as there were only two couples eating when I went to the bar - I was surprised to be asked if I'd booked (early Thursday evening) and told they'd see if they could "squeeze me in"! Decided not to dine!
Location was excellent - right on the river (although my room looked out onto the road/parking at the side).

United KingdomInitially we were allocated rooms in different buildings despite ticking the box requesting rooms near each other when booking. Not sure if this was bioking.com or hotel at fault but the hotel rectified it when asked. Could have done without the 3am fire alarm on the Sunday night too!!
Lovely location, we were in the Waterside Lodge which is separate to the main hotel. Our rooms had great views over the Thames. The rooms were large, modern and had air conditioning (much appreciated in the hot water weather) and balconies. Breakfast was good and re-stocked for late arrivals, staff friendly and helpful.
