The breakfast was great, well cooked and plentiful. The room was large with plenty of storage, very clean and smart. The location was excellent, with the High Street a few minutes walk away, but even better straight across the road was the New Forest with easy walks. The host, Marcus, was superb, friendly, helpful, knowledgable and chatty.

The only fly in the ointment, and something that could not be helped was the noise from the road. As it was so hot at night we had to open all the windows, which meant more noise than otherwise there might have been.

Excellent location, nice large room, clean, quiet, easy to park and staff very friendly.

Second floor but help given with bag on arrival. Room very hot, however, fan provided on request. A min fridge would be nice so you can keep cold drinks.

What a wonderful stay! The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, without feeling at all intrusive. The range available at breakfast was exceptional. Lovely rooms, very good quality for money.

The Forest Side Guesthouse is fabulous, both inside and out. My family and I stayed in the family room, which was spacious and very comfortable. We opted for the breakfast and were glad we did—the selection was excellent and beautifully served each morning by Maria, who greeted us with a smile and genuine interest in our plans for the day. The owner, Marcus, also introduced himself and offered some great tips on how to make the most of our time in the New Forest. A wonderful stay all around!

Lovely small guesthouse just on the outside of Lyndhurst, great helpful staff and lovely breakfast to set you up for the day.

Great location with access to the New Forest and short walk into town.

We were given a very large room with good facilities. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was plenty to choose for breakfast and we enjoyed all we ate. The location was good for us given that the rest of our family were staying near Brockenhurst. It was easily walkable to the centre of Lyndhurst to access shops and pubs. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hestitate to come back!

Perfect location, lovely big room

The room was spotlessly clean with all the facilities one could wish for. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious - a continental style buffet followed by whatever we wanted cooked to order. We cannot speak highly enough of our stay.

Beautiful house with lovely bedrooms which have really comfortable beds. The delicious breakfast is served in 2 spacious rooms downstairs which are beautifully decorated and furnished. Friendly,helpful owners and staff. Access to the New Forest just over the road.

Charming period property, beautifully appointed and, very comfortable, welcoming and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, superb location on the edge of the forest but within easy walking distance of several excellent restaurants.

Liked everything

Forestside is perfectly located for the New Forest area. Its close to nature, lots of walks, bike hire and places to eat. The two male hosts each day were friendly, professional and well informed of the area. Will definitely return!

They should of serviced the room; I did leave a sign up. But I jut washed the glasses and cups myself. Catering staff should make themselves aware of allergies as the lady taking our breakfast order seemed baffled by veganism! Allergies can kill so this is key for all staff dealing with food.

Perfect. Lovely staff. Great breakfast to set us up. Enjoyed our room at the front - large room with little extra room with single bed, which was perfect for us. Perfect location opposite forest and quick walk to restaurants and shops. Looking forward to going again.
