Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStyle over practicalities in places. The bed. I never complained about beds normally but this one was bad. Lighting in the bathroom felt like being back 1920s when electricity first arrived… i couldn’t see a thing. I would have told the staff when we checked out but the question’how was your stay?’ was never asked…
Lovely hotel, location spectacular (although isolated but that is what we wanted), friendly staff and great breakfast. The deco is cosy & stylish, the restaurant offers great food, everything has been thought through carefully.

United KingdomThe addition of a comfortable sofa or two in the drawing room would be nice. Seats lovely but not a cosy / couple setting.
Liked that it was off grid. Lovely, quirky room, comfortable bed. Stylish property internally. Spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast. Dinner offer was nice. Attentive, pleasant owners and staff.

On our trip to Scotland in May, a journey from Inverness to Balquidder required comfortable accommodation with the option of evening dining and breakfast. Suie Hunting Lodge, located just north of Loch Lomond, met our needs and exceeded our expectations. The roads en route were clogged with construction so we arrived for our 8:00 dinner reservation with only moments to spare. The wonderful staff helped us with our bags and let us catch our breath before enjoying a fine meal, including a tasty soup with crusty bread, beetroot hummus and oatcakes and a superbly cooked salmon fillet. The menu was as impressive as any we had sampled in the larger towns and cities and the wine list was equally good. We finished our day relaxing in the drawing room, sipping on liquors in the comfort of wingback chairs. After a long day of driving, we could have slept on a clothesline but the rooms were divine with excellent beds and linens, newly renovated, spacious bathrooms, vintage furniture and plenty of storage. Breakfast the next morning offered varied and delicious choices, from fresh fruits and juices to bacon and egg combos. When we were leaving, a couple that had spotted the lodge sign from the road had stopped to see if they might get coffees and a bun or cake. The dining room had just produced a selection of glorious looking desserts and were we sorry we didn’t have one more day to drink in everything Suie Hunting Lodge had to offer.

United KingdomThe only thing that could be changed was the art work in the room! I suppose it is down to individual taste but the large, loud pop art picture of a girl with a gun was completely at odds with the tranquil, relaxing atmosphere of the hotel. We had to take it down and turn it around during our stay as we found it offensive and intrusive in our room.
This was a lovely hotel just outside Killin. I could not have asked for a warmer welcome. There were beautiful views all around. The room weas very clean and well presented. The shower was great with lovely soaps et. The hotel was quiet and other guests very considerate. Food was excellent - full marks to their chef. The waitress who served us was incredibly attentive and polite and helped to make our evening special. The downstairs 'drawing room' was a popular and pleasant place to relax after dinner. Thank you for the tips on local walks - we really enjoyed exploring.

United KingdomI recommend the addition of tasting notes for the extensive whisky menu. The hotel is clear that it doesn’t have internet and we were ok with this so no surprises; but for a longer stay it would be desirable (Starlink if no local network)
One problem was quickly resolved with follow up. Comfy bed, blackout curtain. 2 excellent dinners and breakfasts - Superb cooking was important for us.

The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The shower was super powerful too which I loved! We ate for dinner and breakfast and the food was excellent. AustraliaA bit isolated and no internet or mobile reception. Not the hosts fault but something to be aware of.
An old hotel being renovated but has amazing history and character. Rooms are nicely decorated but our room not entirely in period decor. Old places are difficult to soundproof so you can hear noises between rooms. Being a 10 minute drive from Killin it was nice to have the bar and sitting room open till 10pm. Breakfast was fabulous and the best coffee. Hosts and staff were lovely and I can see once the outside is finished the property will be magnificent.

United StatesThe only suggestions we have are to continue the outside renovations so guests experience the same charm on the exterior as the interior offers. Also, you might consider relocating the boat outside the presidential suite window. Other than that, just keep doing what you are doing! Cannot wait to come back!!!!
The room was truly exceptional! Completely remodeled, but keeping the hunting lodge vibe and history. The bed was amazing! Loved the antiques. Pauline was so gracious and friendly! Breakfast was out of this world delicious!!!
