Quite a distance from Edinburgh centre (you could catch the train) and the mod cons were a bit too mod. Who needs automatic toilet light to wake you up during your middle of the night toilet break ? And merely working the lights needed a degree in engineering. Stick to switches I’d say. The sash windows were also a little tricky to open. Lots of steps up so not good for those not fully mobile.

Beautiful Georgian property with all mod cons and feeling very smart. Little kitchenette and fridge were very useful. Lovely part of town and very very peaceful with no noise at all to keep you awake.

It is a new built block of flats and as such, the rooms are on the small side. You cannot walk comfortably around the bed in the second bedroom - it is too narrow. There was only room for hanging stuff in the wardrobe, so we just used the second bedroom as a dressing room with our cases on the bed.

The view really is exceptional and wonderful! We had all the things we needed and the provided soaps smelled really nice. We loved having the train line running between us an Arthur's Seat, it was an unexpected delight. It is only a short walk to the Royal Mile and the city centre. There are loads of cafes on the main road nearby. The Sainsbury's across the street is really convenient too.

Room No. 3 on the ground floor was among the worst stays I've ever experienced

There was absolutely no privacy. The room was right next door to the reception desk, every conversation was heard loud and clearly in the room, and everything in the room was also heard outside, including use of the bathroom. You could not make a phone call without the staff hearing you because they were sitting right outside the room. This was essentially a hostel quality stay for 200 pounds a night. There was no minibar, no coffee machine (there were capsules in the room, they were just useless), no way to keep anything cool or to heat anything up. There was little space, but there would have been enough to add these small amenities to make the stay a little better. Other rooms presumably have these.

The staff was nice, Anna and Hannah were both kind.

    Nothing

I stayed at The Bonnie Hotel during the Edinburgh Fringe and honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot! The location was ideal close enough to all the Fringe action but tucked just far enough away for a peaceful night’s sleep. The hotel itself has a really charming vibe modern with little touches of Scottish character throughout. My room was clean, comfy, and surprisingly spacious for a city stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, always happy to recommend shows or spots to eat between performances. What I especially appreciated was how well the hotel handled the Fringe buzz ,it was busy, of course, but they kept everything running smoothly. Would definitely stay here again next August. If you're coming to Edinburgh , The Bonnie Hotel is a solid choice relaxed, well-located, and welcoming.

Heatwave in the city but we were provided with coolers.

I was travelling for work and chose to stay at Bonnie Hotel again. On my previous visit I stayed in one of the Executive Suites, but this time I decided to try the Suite with high ceilings. I was delighted with the experience—the high ceilings, grand chandeliers, and big windows made the room feel wonderfully spacious and elegant. The décor throughout was excellent, and it maintained the same high quality I’ve come to know from even the smaller rooms here. I really enjoyed the sense of space and style in the Suite, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try out the other suites in the hotel.

We would book ground floor next time given my age, this room was on 2nd floor, although the top copula was grand.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the Executive Suite at Bonnie Hotel. We're getting on in years, so comfort really matters—and this suite was wonderfully cosy. My wife has scoliosis and is particularly sensitive about mattresses, but the bed here was exceptional and exceeded her expectations completely. We especially enjoyed the little kitchenette nook—very convenient for our needs. The boutique colours and tasteful decor made the suite feel incredibly homely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

My stay was handled entirely online, which was convenient, but there were several serious issues. On the first night, an alarm was triggered and no staff arrived for approximately 20 minutes, leaving me waiting outside. On the last night, a pipe burst, causing flooding in several rooms and a power outage in mine. I was told I would receive a refund for that night, but despite following up, I never received it and eventually got no response at all. Additionally, the room was extremely small and not as expected.

    Location was great

My check in was frustrating as the code I was given didn’t work. Fortunately, there was someone there who could let me in and change the code so I could get in my room. There is no staff on site so if you have any issues, you have to call.

The location was convenient. When I booked my room, it said “suite with a city view” but what I got was a minuscule but lovely room with a view of a dumpster and alley. The home itself is beautiful.

An exceptional stay at Bonnie Hotel’s King Suite! I was visiting Edinburgh for work, speaking at a major conference, and chose to bring my family along. I needed a place that would not only allow me to prepare professionally but also provide relaxation and comfort for my family. This suite did exactly that and much more. The suite was truly luxurious, beautifully designed, and instantly impressive. Upon entering, we were struck by the grandeur of not just one but three magnificent chandeliers, perfectly complementing the suite’s elegant decor. The huge windows filled the space with natural light and provided lovely city views, creating a perfect blend of grandeur and comfort. Every detail was carefully thought through: the bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring I had restful sleep each night before my speeches. Having a fully-equipped kitchenette was incredibly helpful, allowing us to easily prepare quick meals and snacks—especially convenient with a teenager who seemed constantly hungry! The provided iron and ironing board ensured my clothes were always conference-ready, and my mornings were made brighter by the high-quality espresso from the in-room coffee machine. My family loved the luxurious touches and spacious feel, particularly appreciated the stylish interior. Thank you, Bonnie Hotel, for making my business trip feel like a relaxing family retreat. Highly recommended for anyone seeking elegance, convenience, and comfort all in one.

Bonnie Hotel in Edinburgh is a wonderful smart hotel! I was traveling for work, and it was incredibly convenient to reach the EICC (only a 5-minute walk) which was perfect. The rooms are fantastic, with a coffee machine and a small kitchen that made my mornings absolutely delightful. I will definitely book here again on my next visit to Edinburgh.

My partner and I stayed in the Junior Suite for a romantic fringe getaway, it was simply divine. Everything in the hotel is eligant and considered. The suite had such charm - French flooring, decor and comfortable bed, all thoughtful amenities made it feel very special. We had lovely time together, perfect escape for a city centre getaway.

The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave so soon. I really wished I could’ve stayed longer!

I just stayed at Bonnie Hotel and it was amazing The room was really spacious and clean, and I loved how everything was so high-tech. I could unlock my door with my phone and control the lights and blinds from a tablet in the room. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station and all the main sights in Edinburgh. The staff were super helpful whenever I needed anything through the hotel app. The building itself is beautiful, you can tell it's historic but with all the modern touches you want. Definitely worth the money and l'd stay here again when I'm back in Edinburgh!

Self check-in was something to get used but the process was quick and does save time.
