Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGiven what I paid, what I received, and the location, there wasn't anything I could complain about.
Great value for money. Did exactly what it said on the tin, which was provide a budget room, with adequate facilities, in an excellent location, with really friendly staff. I'd happily use this hotel again.

Italy1) Windows not soundproofed, and one window wouldn't close properly, so I was woken up at 05.40 by (I imagine) a street-cleaning vehicle. 2) The (single) room was a bit cramped- Given the size of the room, more thought should be given to the contents: the single bed was wider than the average single bed, thus taking up valuable space; a wardrobe and small table really don't fit in very well, and a more customized piece of furniture would work better. And operating the tv (on top of the wardrobe) involved using a multisocket device sitting on a radiator (if I remember rightly), or else hanging, otherwise the wire wasn't long enough.
Location good, 5 mins walk from Gloucester Rd Underground Stn. Considering it's relatively central London, a quietish street. Helpful staff, and I was alllowed to check in early since the room was ready. Part of a nice-looking (relatively old) building. Good lift.

CanadaI have no complaints. It met or exceeded my expectations.
Great location! Good, safe neighbourhood. Good restaurants and shopping and museums. Very close walk to the tube station. Very nice breakfast. Not a huge hotel chain but more a quaint, English family style Inn, with proper hotel room facilities in each room and a small elevator. Staff were excellent and accommodating. If you've travelled through Europe, these are the types of places you are looking for.

Great location for Hyde Park, The Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum. The room was very clean, with a good new bathroom. I also had a balcony, which was a great surprise and pleasure.

Poland"I stayed at this hotel for three nights and really enjoyed it. There was a very warm, family-like atmosphere and I felt very comfortable there. The beds were very comfortable. Yes, the rooms and bathrooms are small, but it is a two-star hotel, so I expected that. Breakfast was simple but more than enough for me. I would definitely come back."

United KingdomNo tea making in room though it was ok to go to basement to make a hot drink where there was also a fridge that guests can use.
Not far from tube station, quiet street and within walking distance of South Kensington and only one mile from the Albert Hall. Bedding was great with sheet, light eiderdown and bed cover which is so much more flexible than quilts and staff very friendly with a somewhat unexpected cooked breakfast. Excellent value for London which has once again generally become inhibittingly expensive to stay.

PolandThe water in the room is not safe to drink and had to go to the kitchen downstairs to bring some. The room was hot and fan present in the room was not enough. Internet reach was a bit flaky on the 3rd floor, but all in all it was a great deal, worth coming back.
This hotel has probably the most helpful and friendly staff in London. I appreciate the.presence of plugin adapter, as we forgot to take ours. Localisation couldn't be better and available kitchen is always welcome when travelling with children. There is a lift, which is important when you travel with larger luggage - another not obvious facility. Breakfasts served. Room was nice and clean.

PolandNo shelf in bathroom. No air conditioning in room. Changing towels every day seems unnecessary - they should be only changed if left on the floor.
Good location. Available breakfast (the photos shows only part of it - the "traditional english breakfast" consists of toasts, egg, bacon, sausage and beans). Kitchen is available with tee, coffee and fridge. Rooms are small, but just enough to have a good sleep.

Great location, the staff is very nice, especially at the reception desk. English breakfast is served in the morning (there are sweet patries and fruits as well). We could check in hours earlier as the room was ready.
