Lovely olde wworld coaching house with modern rooms in the middle of the countryside. We didn't have time for a meal there but the menu sounded great and we saw some of the straks ... large! Beautiful area and setting

Check in with super friendly staff was easy, the room was just what we asked for and was cool and well aired, clean with good facilities and a lovely bathroom. We had booked dinner but were early but they still had a table for us and the food and hospitality were fantastic.

Very thin walls, but fortunately the guests were all quiet. One can clearly hear the tv in the other room.

The staff, atmosphere and location. The restaurant was also exceptional.

Unfortunately, we stayed over a Sunday night and the restaurant was not serving food.

Sue was very accommodating with setting up an alternative table for dinner, since our daughter has anxiety issues, (the pub bar was slightly noisy). Thanks also to the young man who served breakfast for us. A great breakfast, and evening dinner was very nice.

Outside the window of our room (number 8) was an extractor fan flue, presumably for the kitchen (room 9 was on the other side of the same flue), and the fan came on at 0630 which woke us up. It’s a shame as the room was absolutely silent otherwise. The breakfast has no buffet, so everything has to be ordered (except coffee, tea and juice), and our first order took half an hour to arrive, even though it wasn’t that busy. There appeared to be only one member of staff serving the breakfast, but maybe this was because it was a weekday morning. The food was absolutely worth it when it arrived though!

Very quiet and dark location in the countryside, comfy rooms, and three electric car charge points in front of the building (£0.60 per kWh, paid via a web app where you just enter your card details and plug in). The breakfast was very tasty and there was lots of choice. The one staff member we dealt with was very friendly and welcoming (she was the only staff member we met during our stay as we arrived at 10pm and left at 10am!). The room had everything we needed and looked recently renovated. The shower was a little weak but it was nice and hot.

There was almost no storage in the room.

Breakfast was very nice--there were options beyond a traditional full English breakfast and I appreciated that! The inn has the character and interest you'd expect from a building that old. It is very dark in the area; we went out on a clear night and walked just a bit up the road and we could see amazing stars and the Milky Way.

One downside, which unfortunately was consistently a nuisance throughout our stay. The sheer number of flies everywhere. When eating food, drinking at the bar, swatting 20 flies in our studio apartment; it was never ending. PLEASE invest in fly zappers as it was pretty awful.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food was lovely, the hotel was clean and comfortable. Our room was immaculate and had all the home comforts I would expect from a quality establishment.

Genuinely - I cannot think of anything.

The location is quiet and calm, the dinner and breakfast was excellent. You were made to feel welcome as soon as you walked inside. There is a little area upstairs with books and games which was ideal for my 2 ASD sons. The staff were amazing, in particular Sam, who really helped the boys to settle. A truly amazing and historical place!
