It was raining so didn't get to spend much time by the sea.

There is a bar underneath the station which played loud music. We were in one of the rooms nearest to the noise (room 215). I wore ear plugs so don't know how late it went on until, but we stayed on a Wednesday so I suspect it's on every night? If you have good hearing and might be bothered by the noise ask for a room which faces away from the station.

It was easy to check in and we were allowed to check in early because we were IHG members. Check out was super quick too. The hotel is a short walk from the train station. Not a lot of choice at breakfast, but what was offered was good quality, and free! We only stayed one night so didn't need to use the kitchen, but it looked very well equipped. Bed was very large and comfortable. Soundproofing was good. We could hear the TV on loudly in the room next door while we were n the corridor, but once inside our room we couldn't hear anything.

Breakfast stops a bit early on week days. Walk from station to hotel is a bit dodgy at night depending on which street you take, but it's very safe.

The area is a bit run down - especially the walk from the recommended parking. On the plus side though it’s then a short walk to the bars and restaurants so very convenient.

The room was clean and okay, but i did notice alot of water marks on the cupboards in the kitchen i went to wipe it off to see if it would come off and it did, so appears that was not cleaned properly. Everything else was fine. Pets are allowed i brought my dog along but in the booking confirmation it said you can't leave them in the room by there self to go out this wasn't clear to me before booking but was okay for us because we was only there for a night. But they are allowed elsewhere in the hotel just not in the dining room. But over all we enjoyed our stay. Pillows was very thin and cheap feeling. Bed okay.no windows that open was very hot in the afternoon and didn't do much. Would be vetter putting a fan in the room, we enjoyed our stay though and would book again.

Staff was friendly and accommodating & professional, check in was easy. The room was okay the bathroom was very nice. Me and my son absolutely loved the gym its not huge but what i liked is that it's open 24 hours and when me and my son went there around 10pm there was no one in there and as an introverted person this was my dream come true! Not sure how it is at other times though. There is also a games den which i can't recall seeing on the advert on booking.com but i could be wrong and not have seen it, so was really good to find out they had a gaming room with a pool table it also had sofas and board games and chess and books. We would book again in the future, brekfast was okay it was limited the hot food only 4 items wasn't that great but can't complain as it was free. Didn't really hear any noise from anyone else as i think there was some form of soundproofing. Had a problem switching on the cooker lady came up.within a few minutes to sort it out and done it in like 10 seconds which was appreciated while in the middle.of trying to cook for my son. Washing up liquid was provided and a sponge and dishwasher tablets shampoo conditioner.

That the lift didn’t work, I would have liked to be informed prior to my stay that the elevator was out of order.

I love the size of the rooms, that it’s very quiet and how clean it is.

The room was very cold. Due to a predicted heatwave I am guessing the heating was set to a max limit but the room was incredibly cold and it was difficult to sleep and I have caught a cold due to the cold room I think.

The staff were amazing. Very friendly and courteous. Customer service was excellent. Especially the receptionist who checked us in and the breakfast staff. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The decor was upto date and very sophisticated.

I know it might seem minor but there was no remote control for the TV (Room 407) so one was promptly brought up to me ,and then I find the volume didn’t work on it so I ended up switching the TV off all together!

Almost everything (Apart from asking a couple of staff when will more bacon becoming out ,and I was told twice “shortly” so I stood around with the rest of my breakfast waiting for Bacon ,Only to be told there wasn’t any! I thought that was a bit weird tbh

The lift outside of the hotel does not work. This is not part of the hotel but there is alot of stairs to the station and hard to climb if you have alot of luggage
