Rich and Ada were fantastic hosts! Very kind and attentive to any detail, they even helped us drying our clothes after a very wet hike! Room was perfect and super clean. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. The free access to the spa, located just a few minutes away, was also really good, especially after a long hike. The location was also perfect, in the middle between Windemere and Bowness, close to plenty of restaurants where to choose from! Really recommended!

United KingdomThank you so much for having us at St John's Lodge. It felt like a fairy tale, as it is a perfect location to explore Windermere and Bowness. Thank you so much for the delightful breakfasts. It was well much appreciated. The rooms are very clean, beautifully decorated and full of useful facilities such as a fridge( with a bottle of milk), a hairdryer, a tea/coffee station. The free entry to the sport and spa centre, which was well used. We did some lovely walks around the lake and some of us tried kayaking for the first time. We enjoyed our stay and we will keep great memories about our holiday. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family. Thank you, Rich, Ada and the team.

I have Multiple Sclerosis. When we first arrived as I had come straight from work, my mobility was severely hampered by fatigue, and Ada helped me down the stairs to our room. Rich upgraded our room for free to an Executive Room with more space because it was our Wedding Anniversary and because I was struggling a little bit with the stairs up from our previous room, which was smaller. Every room was decorated beautifully, and I did not make a complaint, but Rich moved us after our first night to the Executive Room, I think maybe because of seeing my struggle with mobility, and also to give us a treat for a special occasion. Rich and Ada worked very hard, and you could notice the high level of creativity and attention to detail in decoration and cleanliness across the whole house, not just the bedrooms. St John's is very peaceful and quiet, perfect to encourage a sense of being away from the norm, when on holiday. Whilst St John's Lodge doesn't cater for people with disabilities specifically, Rich and Ada did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible, including allowing me a secure space to keep my mobility scooter outside. (We had rain covers so it was no problem.) We will definitely book again, keep up the good work, especially the delicious breakfasts! A great location to see the Lake District.

The location was brilliant bang in the middle of Windermere and Bowness. Managed to park outside the property for the full duration of our stay. The whole property was well kept and very clean. The choice for breakfast and the quality of the food was fantastic. Both Rich and Ada very friendly and approachable, nothing was too much bother.

The location was between Bowness and Windermere so within easy walking distance. There was a lovely walk just across the road via a woodlands into town eventually. Breakfast was amazing, so many choices. Train station was nearby. I had a car and had parking most days (3 parking spaces in front) and nearby off road spaces available.
