There was a couple of areas that could have been cleaner, restaurant floor, window sill etc. Some of the decor was a little tired in the hotel and in the rooms but overall it was lovely. The pool was ideal but a little dated, which was expected from reading previous reviews.

Lovely location, food was great, staff were lovely. Lovely little surprise for my little ones birthday, a lovely touch!

Too many noisy individuals, the Claret Jug bar was a disgrace, dirty dishes left on tables for a prolonged period, short of staff, kids running around and the food was cold (I had fish and chips) as was the curry sauce that was served with the food. Too difficult to get attention from anyone do left most of it.

on 3 occassions out of 4 when ordering food I had to ask why we were waiting so long on the friday evening they forgot about our starter and main and in the downstairs bar on saturday the forgot about our lunch,when we got the lunch it was cold but we were so hungry we just ate it

gym,spa food and staff were fantastic,the room was large and the bed was great. Spa area was great on Friday afternoon to relax and have a bit of fun

Would have liked the casual dining option available in the early evening, without going down to the clubhouse bar.

Gorgeous location. Wonderful walks, comfy nooks everywhere to sit and relax. Staff helpful and welcoming.

The main restaurant could have been better. The first evening meal was a bit of a disappointment (we ate there twice). Staff were nice but some quite inexperienced - obviously people have to learn, but for example, they couldn't open a wine bottle with a cork. Breakfast is also a bit crazy.

Breakfast was fabulous Evening meal in Claret Jug bar/ restaurant was below average.

Location and grounds were beautiful. Bonus of outdoor activity centre and great quad biking. Hotel and rooms were wonderful and super comfy beds. Spa and gym were great.

Staff were not very friendly, charged a bit extra as well and had a random holding fee which is never experienced in a place with no room service.

Beautiful grounds and impressive building, great spa facilities, comfortable beds.

Long check in 14 mins for 2 girls before us. We were left standing for a while and we in our 70 s have mobility issues. We checked in 4 mins not 14.

Staff were very pleasant, we stayed for dinner bed and breakfast which was well worth the money (the food was amazing). Use of the leisure facilities was good too.

Got put in basement room. Windows didn’t open and no view and sweltering hot no air flow.

Breakfast was a bit lacking in options, the iron in the room spat out rust on my shirt.

Room was nice, well presented, comfortable and the setting is lovely. Dinner was good also.

Dinner was nice but expensive. Lots of choice for breakfast but we request a veggie sausage and had to wait a long time for it to appear- it felt like they weren’t expecting any vegetarians.

Nice big family rooms with space between children and adults beds. The pool was great for the kids and the adults loved being able to use the gym, sauna and steam room. Staff were really kind and helpful, and we had a lovely time.

Changing room in swimming pool was on the small side (only 1 private changing cubicle) and felt a bit cramped in the main changing area when there was more than 2 or 3 people changing.

The grounds were lovely, lots of walking routes to explore, big bedroom, fridge in room. Beds were large and comfortable. Air conditioned room so kept nice and cool. The staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast had a good choice of hot foods plus pastries, cereals, toast, yoghurts, fruit, plus a gluten free foods area. There were a couple of snug type rooms in the hotel which I enjoyed taking my book to and having a quiet read 📚 kids enjoyed the pool and slide - there are designated child swimming times and this seems to work well in keeping everyone happy
