Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGood to support this Eco sensitive project but expensive for basic facilities. Lack of wifi for those who have to work. Dry toilets are environmentally sound but a bit 'whiffy'
Great ecological project in nature, lovely location with shelter from young trees. Hot shower from renewable energy. Good parking

NetherlandsI feel like the bed wasn't super comfortable, the matras was too thin for my liking and you could feel the springs. Also the men's urinoir was not connected to the river, the urine was collected around it and it attracted a lot of flies who liked to dance around your weewee. 😅
The campsite was beautiful and super serene. The perfect place to just chill and relax. The lodges were nice and provided everything that you might need. It was a nice place for an offgrid vacation.🤗

United KingdomI can't think of any improvements to be made.
The facilities and cleanliness at Skye Eco Bells were exceptional. The hosts had thought of absolutely everything that guests could need and provided it. Their commitment to sustainable living at the site was really excellent and there was no compromise in terms of comfort or practicality. The location was perfect to be away from everything apart from nature and an ideal base for walking and also exploring further afield around the island.

United KingdomNothing, everything was wonderfully charming, comfortable and spotlessly clean :)
Absolutely wonderful place to stay! We were blown away by how beautiful it is here, and how clean it is. The greenhouse shower is phenomenal, I wasn't expecting hot water for a shower so was very pleasantly surprised! The sleeping cabins were so cosy and the tiny woodburning stoves really keeps it warm. The cooking facilities were great, as were the washing up spaces, and the kitchens had a gas stove and a gas oven (though we weren't sure how to use the oven so decided not to try) all the pots and pans and utensils you need, as well as a teapot and a french press for coffee which was great! A really wonderful place to stay, and we hope to go back!

United KingdomThe log burner was super smoky, unsure what happened, the smoke was seeping out. We decided not to continue using due to this, perhaps needs a sweep? We have one at home so we knew what we were doing. We were incredibly grateful for our small portable gas heater which kept us toasty. I do think we’d of been a little chilly otherwise for the time of year without it.
It was just adorable & just what we were looking for. Loved the cabin room & the outdoor toilet was fab! Very well maintained, clean & stylish as outdoor facilities go! Kitchen facilities were good. Loved that there was no electricity to fully switch off - although we were prepared if we needed… charging banks etc, we had head torches which really came in handy on site, around & in the kitchen & toilets. The cabin was super cosy & had extra blankets & hot water bottles if needed. Candles & a log burner.

CanadaThere was no wood supplied in the communal kitchen the 2nd night we stayed, so we could not use the kitchen as it was freezing cold inside. We bought the 2nd bucket of wood for our room, there was only one bucket left for the two other hats. Quite possibly an omission on the owners side. Lack of wifi makes it somewhat inconvenient. A whole collection of flashlights gathered in the communal kitchen by us and others staying at the two hats had dead batteries the 2nd night we stayed. Not a good thing staying at a place with no Hydro and heat.
Cleanliness, peace and quiet. Cheerful set up and decoration of the place.

United KingdomThe light in the bathroom goes off very quickly. It is very dark and whilst it is an experience and bit of an adjustment, I would have felt much more comfortable with a light in the cubicle.
Best shower I've ever had. Invigorating, freeing, just embrace the experience. It's wonderful.

United StatesThe bed was uncomfortable and a step was needed to access the outdoor toilet. Difficult to get into when you are old! We were most frustrated by the directions in getting there…we could not find the indicated road signs and spent considerable time accessing the property by car.
The unusual property was exactly as described, a charming, clean little cabin, outdoor plumbing, remote location. The owners did a very good job of presenting this unusual glamping experience. We were adequately prepared through the description and the property was more well-designed and presented than we had expected.

FinlandAll was absolutely perfect
Everything. All was absolutely perfect. The most beautiful place we have been at. The cabins were fabulous, the communication with Scott was fantastic and he was there both of the mornings we were in the ecogampling, so, we could meet him and his absolutely lovely son! We had the three cabins as we where 6, and we all agreed that it was the more beautiful and peaceful place we have been at. It was amazing place to disconnect from the rush of life (works, emails, phones etc) and spend time in family as we all are living in different parts of the world. We will definitive will come back; from my partner and my part, we are already planning a new trip to Skye for next year, spending more time, and definitive we will book this cabins. Absolutely in love with the gampling, Skye and every single person we met. As we wrote in the book, if we have to grade this stay it would be 20/10, cause it was much more than perfect.

United KingdomHonestly, we have no complaints. It was everything we signed up for, and wanted.
The cabins were super cozy. The facilities were clean and had everything you could need. The shower was awesome. It was a lot hotter than I was expecting, which I loved. We were in resonable driving distance to so many tourist sites, Neist Point, Old Man of Storr, The Fairy Pools, beaches, shops, etc.

CanadaI loved everything! We even made a friend with a local farm cat who met us outside our cabin.
The owners have clearly put a lot of work into making their guests comfortable and have seemingly thought of everything. The cabin is adorable, comfortable, and cozy. The shared spaces were clean and had everything you might need. Lastly, the location was fantastic as it was close to Dunvegan for meals and the castle, and only 22-minute drive from Portree.
