There is nothing to complain about. Single rooms are a bit small, which makes it difficult to handle large suitcases. However, everything worked out fine.

The accommodation was located directly on the street, which only slightly affected the view from my room, while my nephew's room faced the car park and garden. The rooms were small but well furnished and cosy for our purposes. The hosts were extremely friendly, and the breakfast was excellent.

This gem of a BnB is the best find ever. We have both travelled extensively throughout the globe in various properties and property types, and Sandy & Cathy’s wonderful place rates at the top. Sandy was very welcoming and ensured I was happy throughout my stay. Unfortunately, I never met his wife due to her being ill. I would definitely stay at Shawlee Cottage again in the future and I would recommend this hospitality to anyone looking for a warm, comfortable, good breakfast and nice hosts. Breakfast was a treat, made us ready for a new days adventures. Plenty of good traveltips and tricks from our hosts. They were also attentive to our needs and we felt very welcome.

This is not a question of what we didn't like, but visitors should be aware that there is no lounge or common area where they can sit and visit or perhaps play a game in the evening.

Our hosts, Kathy and Sandy, were fantastic. Their local knowledge and suggestions on what to do and see were invaluable. A generous breakfast was provided each morning in charming surroundings. The B & B offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Everything was fab.

Breakfast was fab. Cathy and Sandy are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Full of joy and clearly passionate about what they do. Location was perfect for our plans whilst there. Lovely garden area and parking on site. Great amenities on the doorstep with easy access to main routes in and out of the area.

I stayed there for 3 nights, it was a very comfortable place, Sandy was so kind and supportive, I have to thank him for his kind care and concern. I strongly recommend Shawlee B&B for those who are looking to visit Glasgow or Edinburgh, thank you so much Sandy.

Nothing to fault

Staying in Shawlee Cottage was like hitting the jackpot! It truely ticked every box. Sandy and Cathy who run this BnB were exceptionally kind, friendly and accommodating. They provided one of the best breakfast spreads I’ve ever experienced and they gave me some delicious goodies throughout my stay. My room was also very clean and comfortable. The town itself is quite small, however, I enjoyed walking and bussing to the neighbouring towns (would recommend the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge). I’m very much looking forward to returning!

Sandy and Cathy were so welcoming and accommodating from the moment I checked in. Felt very safe and secure during my stay. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was made to order, delicious and loved the chats with the other guests and hosts in the morning. Close proximity to Airdrie Train Station (regular trains to Glasgow City Centre) and short commute to surrounding hospitals. Couldn't recommend the stay more!
