It was just an overnight stop so we were happy enough with the room,which was fairly basic but comfortable. However thought the room was expensive as kitchen facilities poor

Pretty expensive for a hostel. The beds were hard and pillows flat. Not very comfortable. What you would expect for a hostel. Having said all that, would stay again just for the experience 🤣

Extremely friendly staff at check in and especially at the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was awesome and had a great atmosphere. It is in a perfect location, the area is beautiful.

Unfortunately the private bedroom was extremely small, even for 2 people, let alone with our 2 small dogs in tow. Water pipes in the walls are very noisy when active and doors can be easily be heard opening and closing in multiple rooms. Bathroom was shared (which we knew would be the case) but shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. Place could do with an upgrade. Considering the low standard of the room, the £10 per dog per night was a bit steep.

The location of the property is a beautiful gateway into the Isle of Skye. Staff were pleasant, especially in the Saucy Mary’s restaurant. The evening meal and breakfast was very tasty.

The toilet is very stinky! Although we booked a suit and had our own shower room, other guests still occupied our toilet in the morning for a long time that affected our schedule! The photo showed the stinky smell in the toilet came from.

There wasn't much of a communal area if you are looking to meet new people. The area didnt offer much to do without driving.

The hostel is not very clean.

Location is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. The kitchenette, use of fridge and small dining area are plus. It is a good pass through option on the cheaper side.

Walls are SUPER THIN!!! We could hear everything in the hallway & in the rooms beside us. People aren't respectful/aware of how sound travels. Dated buildings and room. Bathroom was separate to the room, although thankfully private to the room. No breakfast unless you pre-pay the night before and it was at least 12 GBP if not more. We didn't choose this option - too expensive for what was on offer. EXTREMELY expensive for what it is - 160 GBP for a room for one night. We paid less and got more at our previous & next locations (one of which was a IYH). I requested a quiet room and we were given a room directly across from the main entry/exit staircase and facing the road....so definitely a "high traffic area" of the building.

Location was fine. There was no problem finding parking. No problem checking in.

We stayed at Saucy Mary’s Hostel during our trip to Skye and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations or questions. The rooms were okay—basic but functional, which is what you'd expect from a hostel. However, the bathrooms and showers definitely need a major upgrade. They were quite dated and not the cleanest, which took away a bit from the overall comfort of the stay. That said, the location is great for exploring the island, and the atmosphere was relaxed and social. With some improvements to the facilities, this place could be a real gem.

Twin rooms do not have a private bathroom and it was very inconvenient to have to walk downstairs in the night for the toilet. Also..... the television did not work because the internet connection was too poor to stream programmes. Room was also very hot and stuffy. As the beds were tucked under the eves of the building it was a little awkward getting in / out of bed.

Hostel itself was fine with a good selection of beer and food. Breakfast was superb and served from 7.30am so good for a quick getaway.

Beds are soft..carpets are old and the bath had a strange odour. The kitchen is very small with some hot plates and hardly any utensils etc---If you are planning on cooking be early to use it as we had people queued up to cook next. Do not plan any big cooking event here as the staff will not be able to supply any additional utensils etc. We managed to request and get some from the restaurant ourselves.

Stayed at the dorm with dedicated bath and toilet(accessible with a key card). Beds are OK and the rooms are old and not fresh. Passable stay as I had no options when I booked. Location is great and there are eateries closeby.
