Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe only thing that bothered me a little bit was the cleanliness of the place that was not perfect; there was an old earplug beside the bed on the wooden frame and still some toothpaste on the glasses in the bathroom. But apart from that, everything was perfect
We were looking for a last minute booking for the isle of Arran and stumbled upon The Best Moments Start Here. The hut was very cozy and cute, the owner, John, came to greet us and was very welcoming, unfortunately it was raining a lot but the hut was perfect to snuggle and have some peace.

NetherlandsWhat i didn’t like was that i had to pay 100£ for a hot tub that was supposed to be ready at arrival, but i had to heat it myself for another 2 1/2 hour before we could use it . The guy taking care of this needed to go and said simple you can do that yourself not ??? Sorry for 100£ i shouldn’t have to do anything but enjoy the tub…
What i liked the most was the way the wagon/hut was neatly decorated and useful. Loads of space and good hygiene

New ZealandIt was a little smaller than expected so not sure it's quite worth how much it was, but would still recommend.
Was beautiful and would have really enjoyed the lovely outdoor area but unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough! It was very clean and cute with nice touches like tea, hot chocolate and some breakfast bits!

United KingdomThe only thing we would change is we could smell cats in the property which my partner is allergic too so we were worried he may of took a reaction but other than that it was a really lovely stay.
The host was lovely and had set the heater up so was lovely and toasty for us arriving as we were on the last boat over. The cabin has everything you need for a short stay and a lovely view / sound being next to the river.

United KingdomThe use of the hot tub would have been nice but the £100 extra was too much for me.
Well kitted out, very comfortable. Easy to find and good communication from hosts. Informed beforehand about no TV or reliable Internet connection - this was fine with me.

United KingdomThis is one of the more secure dog friendly holiday rentals I've been to. Mostly fenced and any unfenced parts separated from road by burn and quite steep embankment on roadside. Loved disconnecting from Internet and TV for a couple of days and the proximity to Glen Sannox and path to Sannox Bay right across the road. Cabin was well equipped and would have loved to make better use of the great decking area with BBQ, fire pit and hot tub (all without worrying about the dog wandering off!) however midges and weather got the better of us at times. Hope to return!

United KingdomNothing, it’s perfect!
This property is stunning. The hut is small but so cleverly laid out and fully equipped. It sits in its own enclosed garden with a barbecue, fire pit and outdoor seating, as well as an amazing, wood-fired hot tub, complete with ambient lighting. We were blessed with the weather and ate breakfast and dinner outdoors with the soothing sound of the river running by. Bed was comfortable and shower was great too. The provision of milk, bread and breakfast goods was also a kind and thoughtful touch, as well as the array of hot drinks, which even included mini mallows for hot chocolate! This will be the start of many more visits for us.

United KingdomDidn’t realise hot tub was extra, and only could use it 1 night as we were out all day walking on the Saturday and fire went out. Very disappointing. Could possibly have done with the staff maintaining the fire.

United KingdomNo comfy seating, no WiFi, no TV , we had no mobile signal either so very cut off. Hosts were away on holiday so didn't have anyone onsite , had a power cut due to bad weather. Supposed to have a continental breakfast but all we had were 20 baby bell cheeses and a tub of barbecue sauce in fridge with milk. Othwr guests got bread and jam ?There was a box of porridge. Hot tub was £100 a night but after discussion wirh hosts they did concede to charge £100 for 5 night stay but why is it not electric , couldn't be bothered to light a fire to keep it hot so we missed out on that. Outdoor space is nice but in bad weather there is no top canopy to keep you dry so we felt a bit hemmed in a small space as it rained solid for 2 days. Hosts could supply kindling to help light the huge logs for fire pit, even at annextra cost. They did supply an extra bag for barbecue at no cost whjch was nice. Have stayed at luxury pods with a hot tub and they only charged £20 a night for 2 people. And had a TV for those dark wet nights. They did have a jigsaw but kitchen table was a bit small for this. Bathroom sink mirror could be a bit smaller and higher to allow room for head when brushing teeth .But overall it was a nice hut for peace and quiet.
Very clean. Bed comfy , nice location by a burn, our dog loved it. for a hut it was quite big. Nice to have a Shower whjch was hot. Outside space would have been great if it hadn't been raining.
