A lift to upper floors

Location and sympathetically refurbished . I remember it over sixty years ago as halls of residence for female students which stood alone in a green park.

irst of all, it was a very beautiful hotel. The room was very spacious and perfectly clean. The hotel’s breakfast was truly delicious and could easily compete with popular breakfast spots outside. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As a family who enjoys walking, we could comfortably reach popular places such as the Royal Mile and Victoria Street on foot from the hotel. Definitely a hotel you can choose without hesitation.

The food at the Brasserie restaurant was disappointing.

Stunning accomodations tucked away on the University of Edinburgh campus. We stayed during the summer when most students were away. The campus was very quiet, and there is security at the entrance. It is within walking distance to Arthur's Seat and the Royal Mile.

The one downside? No elevator. Getting our luggage up two flights of narrow, winding staircases in an older building was a bit of a struggle—especially after a long day of travel. So just a heads up if mobility or heavy bags are a concern.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful—full of historic charm blended with modern style. Our room was clean, spacious, and overlooked the gardens, which made for a peaceful stay. The location was spot on: close to Arthur’s Seat and just a quick ride to the Royal Mile and the Castle. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

My room was a little dark, but it was well appointed… And very comfortable. The windows were large, but the walls are painted on dark blue, which is beautiful, but if they were painted on a lighter color, the room would feel lighter and more airy. But the bathroom was perfect. The shower was excellent. Very comfortable room. I do wish they had a little refrigerator in the rooms

Everything. Superb hotel. Built in 1750… The building is a small castle. The interior styling and the artistry and the woodwork is just stunning. You really feel special staying here. And the staff was excellent, and the food was perfect.
