Only downside and this was minor cause for most of the time it wasn’t a distraction was when we arrived there was builders working on the main property but they left at 5pm. Then they came back and started grinding/sawing from 8am. As I say this was minor to us as we are early risers but for others looking for a lie in could be a big deal.

Lovely location, felt like you was in the countryside. Very tranquil watching the birds, cats and horses plus the visits from the owners Dog Bella. Everything you could want was available even a spice rack! Loved that you was left alone but if you needed anything the owners could be contacted. Nice little touches from bottled water in the fridge, fan provided to cool the hut, fire pit with logs etc and toiletries and towels in the bathroom. Perfect night getaway on my husband’s birthday. Would absolutely return in the future.

Such a fabulous place to stay Stunning little shepherd's hut with everything you need and more in a beautiful location So peaceful and relaxing Extremely comfy bed Although we didn't meet the hosts they were very responsive to our messages and were very helpful, We did however meet Bella their dog who was so friendly and welcoming Late check out of 11am meant we could enjoy our breakfast outside in the morning sunshine We can't thank you enough for such a wonderful stay We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back...

Nothing! It would be lovely to have a hammock under the tree by the pond though.

Loved everything. A good for the soul place. Loved our visits from Bella who is totally gorgeous and if we could've taken her home we would! So peaceful sat by the pond with our booze and picky bits with a firepit roaring in front of us. We're now looking to book to stay there again in September. Please, please, please tell me where you got that cow from above the loo door!

Nothing negative to say!

Outside seating area, fire pit with wood etc supplied. WiFi, smart Tv above bed (most comfortable bed EVER) Bluetooth speaker available to use. Toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities, gas BBQ, gas hob, built in fridge, all the utensils you could need along with a full spice rack. VERY clean and comfortable.

Beautiful peaceful location and within easy reach of towns and cities to explore. The hut was very clean and everything was there that we needed for a stay. Sitting out in the evening enjoying the sunset was perfect

The only criticism was we could have done with a tea towel!! Very minor really, it was truly exceptional.

Wow, what a find. Really lovely Shepherds Hut in peaceful surroundings. Everything you could need for a night or more. Bella the Labrador came straight over to welcome us, what a well behaved girl she is. We had brought a chilli from home and sat on the verandah looking over the pond with a glass of wine. What a lovely stay.

Loved everything!

We really enjoyed our stay at Rusty Duck Retreat. The shepherds hut has everything you need, with a cozy modern feel and was very clean. The outside space is lovely and relaxing. BBQ was fab and all utensils supplied. Owners were extremely helpful without being intrusive - this is what we loved, just being left to enjoy our stay but knowing if we needed anything, owners would be there! Will definitely be going back.

Loved our recent stay. Lovely location, beautifully kept grounds, everything was spot on, couldn't have asked for a better mini break. Attention to detail in decor, chilling atmosphere, birds singing, fish feeding.. Great added atmosphere with the lights on & the logburner on in the evening in the back garden.. :) I would highly recommend 👌

Absolutely perfect for a weekend get away, great location, peaceful and the owners had thought of everything. You had everything you needed and more from firewood, tea, coffee, biscuits, all sorts of cooking utensils etc,

Nothing! The place was incredible! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The whole experience was incredible, the property is beautiful with great surroundings. The hut backs onto a horse field where it was lovely to hear them in the morning whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea. Communication with the owners was astounding from beginning to end! They have a dog who comes to visit if you are happy for her too. She is beautiful and we definitely enjoyed her visits. We will definitely return.

We benefited from great weather so could spread out a bit on the deck. It’s very cosy inside - not much hanging space if you don’t travel light.

No big deal but a dustpan and brush and wooden spoon would have been helpful. Also we had some difficulty getting out of the main gate when on foot so some instructions would have been helpful.

For it’s size it’s amazing what has been fitted in. It was very convenient for us and beautifully done.

Our stay at the Rusty Duck was absolutely perfect. Alex and Simon couldn’t be more informative before you arrive, which made travelling/finding the retreat easy and simple. Even down to the details/booklet inside- really great hosts. The hut itself is beautiful and spotless. The outside area is lovely, especially when the sun goes down and the fairy lights come on. Bella the dog was an added bonus for us too! We only stayed for one night and it felt like a complete reset for us, it was so relaxing and quiet compared to our normally very busy household. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Absolutely nothing. My stay was perfect.

The atmosphere was so peaceful and refreshing especially being able to look out across the pond during sunrises and sunsets and being so quiet I was able to listen and connect with the beautiful nature that surrounded. The hut itself was very cozy and perfect for solo getaways or couples retreat.

As soon as you arrive at The Rusty Duck it makes you feel at peace. It’s incredible that the hut has all the modern facilities and comfort of home in one small space. The host are fantastic and the place was so clean. If you need to unwind or have a very cosy comfortable place to stay , this is it. Can’t wait to book again.

There were no faults , we loved everything

We had an excellent stay for my birthday. Lovely and peaceful and the hut was so cosy. We was luckily enough to have a little bit of snow which made it even more magical. Can't wait to return especially in the summer so we can make use of the bbq and outside space more.
