How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Absolutely nothing not to like about this B&B - it's perfect (in every way) for exploring the North East of Aberdeenshire! I only wish I was able to stay for more than one night, but I definitely will next time!
This is a real treasure of a B&B, in a beautiful rural location within 15-20 minutes drive of the stunning Aberdeenshire coastline. Sandra and John were lovely hosts, and made me feel instantly welcomed and at home. My room was well above my expectations and it was stocked full of lovely refreshments and treats. It was also incredibly well equipped, with a toaster, microwave and half-height refrigerator stocked with fresh milk and all sorts of yogurts, dairy drinks, juices, etc. The ensuite and room were both spotlessly clean (immaculate!) and the bed was very comfortable. The Scottish breakfast the following morning was exceptional by any standard - by far one of the largest and best breakfasts I've encountered at a B&B. Beautifully prepared, piping hot and a gastronomical delight to eat! All of this for an unbelievably good-valued room rate!! I couldn't ask for anything more - it was a perfect stay and needless to say, this B&B is now firmly on the top of my "must visit again" list!

What a find eventually !! Excellent accommodation with so many extra's. Sandra and John great hosts .Property may be a little off main road . you are in Scotland !! We shall certainly be recommending this wonderful Guest House.

Sandra and her husband are fabulous hosts with immense kindness! The little snacks and our long conversations were particularly enjoyable! Thank you for everything — from the bed to the discussions about your country over breakfast, everything was perfect. You truly feel at home with them.

Nothing I didn’t like about the property. I just needed somewhere reasonably close to Banff for one night, so it was perfect.
Excellent host (Sandra) and the most amazing breakfast. Comfortable rooms with well designed bathroom and lots of extras. Thank you.

Good service
We book last min got greedy on arrival gotboffer a beer and there was lots off snack in the room we was ask what time we would like breakfast we said 7 and it was there tbh at the price we paid for the night and what we got i dont know why it's so cheap it should be about 80 for the night for two ppl

The beds were a bit stiff for me but that's so personal and subjective.
I chose to stay the night in Aberdeenshire last minute and the hosts were as welcoming and accommodating as can be. I got there quite late but they made me feel comfortable and even saved me a trip to the local shop offering a couple of beers. We had a lovely chat in the morning.

Loved all of it...
Sandra and John were so welcoming and couldn't do enough to make sure we were having the best time with them. They even phoned the local inn to book a meal for us. The room was spotlessly clean and had so many extra little touches (snacks, drinks, fresh milk) to enjoy. John left a 'tractor magazine' for my husband because he found out we were farmers.

Sandra and her husband were warm and amicable hosts. We arrived on our bikes soaked, tired and a bit bedraggled. They welcomed us and we were able to dry off and settled into our comfortable room. The bed was comfortable, an array of snacks were provided in the room. 🙏🏼

I loved that this was Sandra’s family home, it was really lovely, it felt just like being at my grannies, all the little extras she provides in your room, I’ve never been so spoiled for choice, what a great selection of snacks, the room was really lovely and the bed was super comfy. Her attention to detail is second to none. It felt like a home from home.

Nothing not to like
Had a really nice overnight stay here. I had to be away early so couldn't try their cooked breakfast. BUT they had put breakfast cereals in the room and the fridge was full of different yogurts cheese snacks 😋 so didn't go away hungry. The room was lovely plenty of space and loved the bathroom with the walk in shower. 👌 and all set in a peaceful location. BLISSFUL 😊

This was by far the best guesthouse i've ever had the pleasure to rest my head. John & Sandra made me feel so welcome from the minuet i arrived. Absolute legends the pair of them!! The breakfasts were outstanding, the room was perfect, and the craic was top notch. Bravo you two!!!!!! Until next time :)
