We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomUnfortunately this stay there seemed to be a shortage of staff. They had the same person looking after reception and the bar. At times this made the wait for a drink longer than was reasonable. I've been staying at the Royal for years now, but it is starting to look shabby and uninviting. Could do with a complete overhaul to bring it up to a standard befitting the beautiful building it is
The staff were brilliant. Very polite and friendly. I loved the fact I had a balcony to sit out on, but the charge for this, considering the bed was only a single, was far too much.

United KingdomThe room was very small, it's only benefit being a balcony. Also, as above, the difficulties at mealtimes. The full length mirror in our room was covered in a child's sticky fingerprints. The outside seating area was covered in cigarette stubs
The food at breakfast was fine, but it was very crowded as there was a coach load in & not enough staff. There were no black teabags left on our first morning & no one replaced them even though I asked. I couldn't get the toaster to work properly & no-one to help. The evening meal also affected by the coach people. We'd booked for 7 pm but we're not attended to until 7.30. One pair waiting walked out & we were about to follow.

United KingdomSingle bed was like sleeping on wood. The evening meal was very bland- Prawn Cocktail, was poor, main course was poor for flavour. Chicken was very dry and little dribble of BBQ sauce did not make it any better. Similar story for the other meals for the family. The hotel is over 100 years old and has the grandeur of a luxury hotel from the 1930's. It needs a complete refurb. The worn carpets on the stairs, the torn curtains in the room, It seems to cater for the older generation, but as one, it needs modernising, before the start of the next summer season.
Location, warm welcome, free parking, Breakfast was good, but they need to have the rolling toasters, and machines for the hot water/coffee machines, not pump style flasks, which normally used for a temp event. not every day for breakfast. Thge outdoor space looked great, but it was not the weather to sit out and enjoy it.
