How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Door stop in bathroom was inconvenient. Would prefer choice of bread rather than just croissants.

Nothing - everything was brilliant!
Having stayed here once before, I knew everything was going to be terrific but my partner was absolutely delighted. The suite is very well organised, delightfully furnished, extremely comfortable and immaculately presented - everything is spotless. Breakfast has great variety, I especially love the chilled fresh fruit and the yogurt pots while my partner enjoyed the granola, with croissants to follow - having the microwave to warm them is like icing on the cake! Thank you Kate!

Warm welcome from the owners. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Tea/coffee, fresh milk, juice and our continental breakfast in the fridge. Communication prior to the visit was great and parking instructions clear. Great location with lots to see and do by car in the area.

Spacious, cosy and comfortable accommodation in a lovely peaceful garden setting. The location is so convenient for visiting many places of interest. Kate is very friendly and welcoming, and her continental breakfast is superb.

The mattress is a little firm. It wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for some.
We had a good night at Rosebank B+B, which is a private, spacious, and comfortable spot. We were planning a walk in the East Sussex countryside the morning of our departure and Rosebank was a good location for the night before. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the view from the entrance deck of the field and apple trees behind the property.

We only had two night. Could of done with more.
Excellent.....gold star from us. Breakfast was more then enough to set you up for the day. Very quiet peaceful place and hospitality was great. We will be back. Thank you very much Kate and family.

Rosebank is ideally suited for exploring the gardens and NT properties in the Kent/E Sussex area. Kate and James were very helpful and friendly and they have done a great job with their guest room, separate from their house. Very comfortable, very clean, well maintained and conveniently situated.

Lovely little cottage feel to the accommodation. Slept really well. Good quality bedding and soft & hard pillows - lovely touch. Walk in shower perfect. Facilities - coffee/cereals there is everything you need.

Nothing really , the staircase might be a problem for anyone with mobility issues
Wonderful B & B, the bedroom was in an annexe to the main house ( a converted barn situated in the owners garden ) reached by a steep outside stair case, very comfortable large double bed, delicious continental breakfast, TV with Netflix/Amazon ( just remember to bring your passwords ), great location for visiting National Trust properties such as Batemans and Sisssinghurst. Would definitely recommend and will make a return visit.

There was nothing the owner could have improved on. Our only problem until we got used to it was the sloping ceiling at the sides of the room and being tall, we kept forgetting and banging our head on it.
Received friendly welcome and found the room very spacious with everything provided. The breakfast which was left for us was excellent with a wide variety of items all of first class quality. Wide selection of teas and coffees and a fridge and small microwave. Table and chairs available to sit in the garden. Way above the average B&B. Will definitely visit again.

The accommodation is accessed via a number of steps so would be unsuitable for those with mobility issues.
The immaculate and comfortable accommodation was separate from the house so felt very private. A substantial and delicious continental breakfast was provided and the hosts went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here. If you book soon you can see their puppy!!!

Some instructions for the coffee machine would have been good (the other coffee was rather out of date).
Good location for our trip. Very cosy with a little table and chairs set out in the back garden. Lovely on a sunny afternoon!
