As a retired Health and Safety advisor, I would advise that the steps and front gate should be looked at as it is an accident waiting to happen,I would suggest that water proof mats are used to cover the wooden steps which when wet could lead to slip hazards, this brings me on to the gate which the design is actually hazardous if someone slipped on the wooden steps they could fall on to the pointed gate because the height is much lower than the steps and if fallen on could cause serious injury maybe ditch the gate for one without the pointy spikes on it just a suggestion

We had a little problem got sorted straight away the staff are fab and was lovely we are booking again on the 11th as so lovely room are beautiful just like the photo the games room is fab everything about it was really good deffo out new hotel to getaway for a weekend loved it

The bed was so uncomfortable! It was borderline painful to sleep on. The heating was on constantly during our stay and was set at 24.5*C which was pretty much unbearable. The staff were available through message on booking.com but suggested I try to take the batteries out of the hive heating system, and also mentioned “it was working fine the day before”. The wire covering had been pulled off the wall under the TV which was an eyesore. The room is very very small. We weren’t in it enough for it to be too much of an issue but it was super small for two adults with two suitcases. I forgot a pair of sunglasses (completely my fault) and was told housekeeping would let me back into the property. I stood outside for 15 minutes to be let back in and didn’t receive a response from the messaging system for a while either.

The property is in a prime location in South Shields. The kitchen and games room were great although the latter was a little tired looking. The room was decorated nicely and was very secure.

No hand rail outside the bedroom door where there is two steps and being infron of stairs I thought they were needed. Being a 75 year old woman I was nervous going in and out. There was a hole in the duvet c9ver which my hand got caught. It didn't hurt but it should have been changed.

Cleanliness. Beautiful towels. The vase on the drawers was fabulous. If it was for sale I would buy it as have been looking for exactly that. Lovely hot water.

First room 2 smelled really bad, but we were moved (to room 5) so it was fine and they were dealing with the problem. The room they moved us into after (room 8) had a dirty sock over the smoke alarm but everything else was great and the staff were really nice to move our bags to the more appropriate room available.

Great location, really friendly staff that helped me when the first room had something wrong with it - they gave us another room to stay in. Great games room with kitchen
