Nothing the property could have done would have made my stay better - I had special travel plans that meant I had to cut my visit short but I'll be back when next in the area.

A personal welcome upon arrival, friendly staff and a beautiful house, made this a really memorable experience. My room was just right, with lots of old house quirks that make the stay extra special. I had to leave early due to my travel plans and they were very accommodating, even offering to make breakfast at a very early hour of the morning!

Other than one of the twin bed having a squeaky headboard, nothing to fault

The twin room was enormous and very comfortable and spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and 2 chairs as well as tea/coffee facilities and a Nespresso machine outside the room. Carolyn was lovely and very accommodating. Parking was right out side the house in a very quiet rural area but in a good location and less than 10minutes drive in to Alnwick 2 different ways. There was lots of choice for breakfast of both continental and cooked breakfast. Service was a little slow because Carolyn works alone mostly so as long as you aren't in a rush it was fine. The cooked breakfast was delicious too. The local pub recommendation for evening was great too.

The entrance was slightly hard to find! There also seemed to be a flat charge for wedding taxis. £20 for less than a 5 minute drive seemed very steep!

There was nothing to dislike about Rock House. The only thing of note which is nothing to do with Rock House, is the local pub The Horseshoes inn in rock was disappointing for food and choice is limited in comparison to their website. The quality was confirmed by other diners either complaining or sending food back, in my opinion i would rate it as expensive pub grub.

Carolyn is an excellent host and the breakfasts are very, very good with a good selection to choose from. The house and rooms are decadent with the beds very comfortable. The location is well placed for visiting both Alnwick and the coast. Peacefulness and quiet grounds are the thing we noticed most.

Loved this place, lovely traditional property in quiet location but close to A1. Proprietors were very friendly and helpful. Good selection of breakfast and eggs cooked to perfection. We will definitely stay here again.

There were cobwebs on the light fittings. There was mould behind the shutters for the main window, this was only found on the morning of departure. These things should have been dealt with before the room was let.

The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. The shower was very efficient. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. We arrived early, due to the weather and were able to access the room earlier than advertised.

We stayed here as we were at a wedding at Charlton Hall, only a 5 minute drive down the road and a lovely place! The room was lovely, clean and well presented. Breakfast in the morning was also fantastic. Would really recommend staying here when in the area!

Excellent breakfast with prize-winning black pudding ! Our room was quite luxurious, and the location was in the middle of nature, thus quiet and far from any traffic.
