Rather expensive for quite a small room, and a small bed. Quite noisy at night. Dining room chairs looked like they needed a clean.

Not as smart and not as clean as it should be / used to be, especially around the entrance, the kitchen door and the carpet in the reception area and stairs. Some of the food in the restaurant is excellent but the packed lunches and certain choices from the menu were strange and not very nice.

A beautiful, charming and historic location - we always look forward to staying here. Friendly, helpful staff and great views from the rooms.

Initially we were taken through some very winding corridors and staircases to a rear facing room, which was not what we had booked, but on pointing this out to them, they immediately remedied the situation

I liked the fact that when we arrived and they have double booked our seats facing room, they exchanged it for one of the cottages at no extra charge

I think that, due to travelling with the dog, we must have been given a low end room. The bath had no shower screen or curtain which meant that the hand held shower head sprayed EVERYWHERE when showering. The door was sodden and it was impossible to have a proper shower. The bed was so uncomfortable that we have now got back and neck aches and the room was so small, there was nowhere for the dog to sleep without us tripping over her in the night when going to the loo!

Water was warm but not hot for showers and baths after our walk on the Saturday.

Supper and breakfast was very good. Food generous with good flavours.

Water could have been hotter as there was a big bath. Bigger cups for a cuppa in the room when you arrive. They had a nice tea selection. We only got a continental breakfast as there were no kitchen staff in so no cooked breakfast and no toast.

The mattresses in room 12 weren’t comfortable at all which sadly impacted on our sleep both nights. The shower tray wasn’t draining during our stay.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding and served beautifully. The location is perfect. Beautiful sea views.

The room above the bar is noisy, conversations can be heard quite clearly. The keycode for the front door wasn't mentioned when we checked in.

Could do with upgrading some of the chairs where ripped it has a lovely bath the room we was in but very difficult to get in and out of it

Our room was a little tired with chipped paint on the doors and skirting boards. The wardrobe and bathroom doors that were a little tough to open and close. We had to go outside and walk up the street to get to our room which was a bit strange and rather unexpected. We had dinner in the restaurant on the day that we arrived, which was delicious, but we felt was expensive for what we had.

Lovely property with heaps of character and gorgeous views over the harbour. The hotel was as warm as toast during our November stay. Bed was very comfy and the breakfast was delicious.
