A very high standard hotel, definitely worthy of a 10. The service and approach to guests is very professional, and very warm and welcoming. Variety of breakfasts and dinners, very tasty, in a variety of hotel restaurants The place is located in the heart of the forest, which gives a very special feeling of connection to nature, peace and quiet, a very comfortable and well-organized pool on the hotel grounds, the surrounding gardens are very well-kept and allow for enjoyable walking tours. A very special experience of staying in a castle from the last century that is maintained and managed to perfection, We stayed at the hotel for 9 nights in total

Breakfast was excellent although the fruit pot was a little disappointing . The room was fine large bed and sofa bed, comfortable , good quality bed linen and pillows. Bathroom shower excellent although the room was far too hot and the TV in the wall didn’t work and the loo roll holder kept falling off. Soft white towels & dressing gown. Lunch was lovely. Unfortunately I didn’t get to have dinner as my granddaughter wasn’t too well .

The bedroom decoration was dated and the carpets were generally rather tired. The TV offer was very poor with no Netflix etc. We ate in the conservatory and the food was generally good except for the Eaton Mess which was very mediocre/poor.

Beautiful hotel building, gardens and location. Excellent breakfast and beautifully served. Excellent staff all round. Comfortable bed and room. Very peaceful.

I found some of the public areas a little cold and draughty and the hotel likes to have lots of doors and windows open. Breakfast time was a little early for quite so much fresh air - in my opinion.

Room was lovely, spacious and very comfortable. Lovely staff everywhere who always greeted guests and took an interest in what you were doing.

The rooms, if no suites, are too small for the rate, bathrooms rather normal (bathe tub used as shower)

The swimming pool looks better in picture I had to carry my stroller down some stairs not all the staff were knowledgeable about new forest (where to walk etc ...) The tennis court is not well maintained

Our room had cobwebs around the bed and was quite dated.

Stunning property and gardens in an amazing location. Really peaceful surroundings. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was great, especially the breakfast!

Nothing could be better…..

The hotel’s setting is simply fabulous—surrounded by the beauty of the New Forest, it provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing escape. We were thoroughly impressed by the quality and range of the facilities, which exceeded all our expectations and truly enhanced our stay. A special word of appreciation must go to your staff, who were consistently friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Their warm welcome and attention to detail did not go unnoticed and made us feel completely at home throughout our visit. We would like to give particular thanks to ‘Sarah’?, who headed up the Conservatory Restaurant. Her professionalism and the way she handled all the guests with their food, was exemplary; she ensured every meal was a delight and every guest felt truly valued.

The TV in the bathroom! The sound is very loud even on the lowest setting and the noise travels between rooms which is disruptive.

We stayed as a family of four. Room was comfortable and quiet. All the staff were professional, friendly and attentive. There were lovely touches for the children such as activity bags and milk and cookies in the evening. The restaurant for breakfast was excellent and a good selection on the menu. Dinner in The Conservatory was also excellent and good range including for children. We enjoyed the heated pool outside and being able to explore the grounds. Good location for exploring the local area and walks through the New Forest. The wellness spa made the stay relaxing. We loved it here and would visit again as a family Thank you!

Small features and experiences restrict it from being a 5 star experience, which you would expect for the price of the room. E.g. alarm clock in the room went off at midnight, having to be in the room at a specific time for the cookie experience and the cookies arriving late. Having a walk into the forest which leads straight off the grounds would be excellent too - the recommended walks from the hotel first take you to a public car park with designated walks which are busy.

The hotel and grounds are very unique. The staff were all extremely kind. Nice small touches like free cookies and milk delivered to the room for our daughter. Breakfast was great. The location is settled in the heart of the forest and is extremely calm.

Poor gym facilities, tv and sound system didn’t work and only one a/c unit was working, no hand sanitizer. Equipment not really varied enough for a complete workout
