Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe window in our room had no option to open. That was the only thing that bothered me a little bit other than that it was great!
The room was clean, the staff very friendly. Location is great.

Location and space within apartments was reasonable, nice touch to have a roof terrace.

NetherlandsThe rain shower head was a little bit clogged, so one stream directed outside the shower cabin. But it did not affect the stay as much.
I liked the room and the balcony, the bed was comfortable and the shower was excelent with a rain shower head.

AustraliaNothing.
Excellent location, great value for money in London. Air conditioning great for the hot weekend we were there. Very basic but due to location & price it was good. We had a sofa bed apartment but didn’t use it as looked uncomfortable and not made up. But it gave us extra room to store luggage and spread out. Location was fantastic, only 2 mins to Liverpool street train / tube and lots of restaurants & pubs around. Felt very safe. 5 mins to Spittlefields markets too.

United KingdomNot much. A little wear and tear on some of the walls and bathroom, but the place was very clean so wasn't an issue. Floor is very creaky so was worried we were making a noise for the people below us. Again nothing major. A dishcloth to dry the dishes would have been good and to wipe the worktop down but again such a little thing. There is no lift which is fine. We only went up the stairs twice on our stay so manageable on the 3rd floor. Wouldn't like to have come and go a lot though. It is an old building as it is central London. There is nowhere to put in a lift so again just the way it is.
Staff were really friendly. Were able to leave our bags for free the next day. The bedding and towels smelled really lovely and clean The location is perfect. The room was clean and good amenities. Air conditioning lovely and cool as London was hot and sunny.

United KingdomPrice slightly high for the standard of accommodation but then again it is London!
Location, location, location. Right beside Liverpool St Station (great for Stansted Express and number of Tube lines) and only 15 mins walk from the Tower of London.

BelgiumThe least pleasant was the small bathroom set-up and the shower. The showerhead was placed too high without option of a handheld head, and water was splashing outside the cabin and on the floor.
We booked a double room very last minute due to a change in travel schedule and this was a practical option. We received clear access instructions given that the reception was closed. The room had the necessary amenities and a small fridge. The location is ideal close to Liverpool Station and Spitalfields market. Despite the lively area the room faced indoor so it wasn't noisy.

United KingdomI'm not sure the towels were changed from the previous stay as two of them had make up stains on them. As I was only staying one night and it was just a place to crash it wasn't too much of a issue for me. The patio door never completely closed properly making it impossible to lock.
The location was fantastic for my travel needs. The room was as pictured and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Free wifi Little courtyard with table and chairs

LatviaNot a particular problem in my case, but the building has four floors and no lift, so you might want to request a low floor if you have a problem with stairs.
I was assigned a small, plain, modern, clean and well-equipped room on the third floor, well-priced for the area and very much in line with the description on Booking.com. The room was pleasingly quiet, probably helped by the fact that it was at the back of the building. Tea, coffee, kettle and biscuits were a welcoming touch.
