Needs a little tlc. Could do with a lamp or two, a fan.....such a small room. Space could definitely be utilised more efficiently. What a stunning location.

Outside appearance is a bit off putting, rusty window frames and colour of building. Lack of parking doesn't help either. Windows really need replaced.

Being called a long-haired old man.

Most of the staff were pleasant and friendly. However, one individual ruined all of their kind words when at breakfast on the first morning, he claimed that my name was not on his list and he would have to phone a colleague and asked me to wait in reception while he did this. Upon getting through to his colleague, he described me not by my name or room number. Instead, he described me as the old man with long hair. He said it loud enough for the receptionist to hear, who was shocked at his choice of language but also horrified to see that he had upset me by doing so. One bad apple!

Minor points but would have preferred an armchair to the stool provided. Car parking proved a slight headache. Hotel's small car park was always full and most nearby on-street parking was time-limited.

Comfortable, spacious room and good bed. Ideally placed for what I was doing; a hillwalking trip by boat to islands in the area which left from pier right outside. Staff all helpful and friendly.

Everything in the hotel was fine, only concern was the very limited parking at the hotel. We were lucky and managed to move into a space once that morning's guests had checked out. Parking otherwise is in a public car park ( free between 6pm and 9am) at the end of the esplanade. Quite pricey considering there was only very limited parking, but that seemed on a par with other places in the town.

Well equipped, spacious room with lovely view over the esplanade. Good choice at the buffet breakfast. Staff were polite and efficient. The lady who checked us out - Gloria- was lovely, very friendly and polite.

Not very personal staff. Didn’t spend much time in the hotel so can’t comment on many aspects: food, bar etc.

Excellent location next to North Pier as we were going on the Waverley. Room clean and comfortable.

Just the outside.

The building looks awful from the outside but it’s pleasantly really lovely on the inside and the rooms are modern and comfortable. Also in a great location, opposite the harbour

Room was dated with gold furniture. Beds were saggy and uncomfortable and kept sliding on the floor. Dirty shaggy rug on floor and dirty under bed.

There are lots of steroids everywhere in the building. The room was too hot and couldn’t open windows. Items in breakfast buffet were either finished or dried up in hot containers.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lovely lady - Precious - was great and brought us crispy bacon and gluten free bread (she remembered from day before). Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Lobby was a fantastic welcome to the hotel, very nice

Room was rather compact with only one bedside cabinet and a small stool as there wasn't any room for anything else

Clean and tidy rooms and lovely art deco hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and when we checked out they looked after our bags while we waited for our train at no extra cost.
