Great location. Easy to book and welcomes dogs. Great check in and evening meal. Staff all lovely in the evening.

The staff were fantastic! The food was brilliant! It was clean and great value for money. It was in easy reach of the town, canal, mere and footpaths. Sunday night quiz. We shall definitely be staying there again.

Car park is tiny and difficult to manoeuvre. The bed(s) in room 1 was very soft and I found it difficult to get comfortable

Unfortunately some areas were really tired looking. I had a kettle in my room but no electric base so no way of boiling water. The bulb was out on the main light so I made do with an angle poise lamp. Annoyed that some clients left their empty shampoo and shower gel bottles in the shower cubicle. There was a bin so that was just laziness on their behalf. Woken at 4:30am by lorries thundering down the road outside...so maybe next time I'd request a room at the back where it's quieter.

Fantastic staff. So helpful and friendly. The bar area was busy and obviously a popular spot. The food was really plentiful and very tasty. Both food and drink were extremely well priced. My bedroom was clean and tidy and very near the shared bathroom. I appreciate the difficulty of providing en-suite facilities due to the extreme age of the property. Beautiful village/town.

There was a very small car park which was full on arrival but I did manage to park in the lay-by outside the pub. The room was very basic. Breakfast was late -not starting till 8:30am so we had to miss out even though it was included in the price. The staff made up a packed breakfast consisting of a breakfast roll, chocolate bar, crisps and a drink. Would have preferred a cheese/ham roll to a cold breakfast roll. Nice thought though.

The pub itself was lovely. Set in a lovely location. The food was great and the drinks were very reasonably priced. The staff were fantastic.

Slightly run down building particularly the pub downstairs and some of the rooms. Very noisy road, which affected a lot the front bedrooms..

Good value for money! a pleasant double room ensuite and tasty cooked breakfast included. Surprisingly quiet at the back of the hotel looking onto the church. Convenient private parking in back yard of hotel and close proximity to the mere and canals.

The doors spring back making a load bang, so when other guests get up in the early hours to go to the toilet, the banging doors wake you. Some load Rd noise but that's to be expected by a busy Rd.

Was told on Saturday evening there was not anywhere to sit for a drink, had to take it up to our room. Door wedges or slow closing systems may be an idea, as the doors slammed every time anyone went in or out of their room. Air freshener in shower rooms would be a good idea as well .

Bathroom lacked shelving over sink where mirror situated. Extraction fan not working, needed as no window. Loo seat needs securing, room chair needs a good clean.

Staff were fantastic a real 10 out of 10.
