Fab location, the fact they accommodate so much for dogs it was so welcoming, we didn't take ours this time but we will be going back with her. Parking can be tricky but there was plenty when we went. Right next to amazing walks and 15mins away from Keswick.

I have some food intolerances, so eating every evening at the restaurant was difficult because I couldn't find enough variety of food that didn't have garlic in.

A wonderful place to stay, and a completely dog friendly hotel, Rupert was allowed everywhere, yet all the rooms were of a high standard, The staff were very warm and friendly too

I cannot think of anything that was negative.

Beautiful location, fabulous views of The Lake. Stunning and very comfortable hotel, impossible not to relax. Great menu, food was beautifully presented, fresh produce and great value. All staff were happy, polite, helpful and willing to go that extra mile.

Reception could be prioritised more both in appearance and location.

Great location with views of the lake. Public areas were very cosy and dinner and breakfast excellent. Room was lovely and compact up in the eaves. Shower room very up-to-date.

My husband didn’t like the ketchup is sachets lol.

There is a lot to like about this hotel. The location is very well situated for walks. The staff are very helpful and engaging. The food has been excellent. The hotel is a dog friendly hotel and the dogs are very much part of the enjoyment, there are dog treats around the hotel, sausages for the dogs at breakfast - it’s the first time we have brought our dog away with us and would definitely do so again.

    Nothing, we loved it here.

Fantastic stay. Beautiful building and clean and bright rooms with some smashing views. Lots of walks and hiking opportunities nearby. A peaceful location and everything felt very accessible by car. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. Staff went above and beyond when our dog became anxious in the new environment. Electric car charger nearby which was handy.

    Very little !

As a returning guest I new all about the hotel, and what to expect when I got there. I can only say that it was as I remember it with the the same laid back appeal, courteous staff and good food. The advertising for the Hotel seems to be working well as I spoke to visitors from at least three of the four points of the compass, including overseas.

Nothing I didn’t like about the property, there was maintenance work going on to repair the roof while we were there. The working hours were controlled to minimise disturbance for the guests.

An amazing Manor House which is maintained to a very high quality. Located between Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite lake in the beautiful Lake District.

The only thing I would say is the bed could be longer, our feet hung over the bottom of the bed but it was still comfortable. That is the only thing that I would have changed.

Absolutely stunning place, the hotel was warm and welcoming, very clean. The staff were very friendly. The view and the garden are exceptional. Value for money I will definitely come here again I've had the best time. The food is fantastic and a good price in the restaurant, the breakfast was quality. Very very good place.

Rooms are outdated. Only 2 plug sockets and those are used by the TV and kettle! Parking is limited but we made it work.

    Nothing at all!

By far, one of my favourite places to stay! We loved the outdoor terrace, the spectacular views and the genuine staff! Not to mention, great breakfast! Also, loved the idea of having dogs allowed - there were so many around which really added to the wonderful ambience :)

There was not a lot of space in the bathroom between toilet and sink. Parking spaces are limited and difficult if you arrived back late. But the sister hotel over the road allowed us to park despite their car park only being small. Minor issues really we stayed 3 nights and only struggled to park once.

Lovely smaller hotel with character, although on a main road, very peaceful. The staff were lovely and friendly, very helpful. Very dog friendly hotel, towels in the entrance if your pooch is a bit soggy when you get back, they are allowed in all areas of the hotel. The food was delicious, breakfast and evening meals. Award winning pie, well worth the award, quite a lot of areas to eat, not limited to the dining room and never felt over crowded or rushed. Best hotel I've stayed at in the lakes despite the bathroom and parking but will definitely go back, fabulous!!
