The lifts (size and frequency and how often they were out of service).

Location was incredible. Comfy big bed. Decent sized room.

The stay was comfortable but could have been better, considering the high price we paid for the room
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Room with Hill View
    • Stayed 4 nights

breakfast did not have any ala carte options and the spread for vegetarians (those not eating eggs or meat or fish) were limited. BF space at 8 am was crowded and there was very little personal service offered. On one of the days, 2 of the 3 lifts were not working causing delays over 5-7 minutes in getting the lift. The coffee pot in the reception lobby was often empty. On one of the days, the room was not cleaned till 4 pm eventhough we specifically requested the housekeeping staff to do the cleaning at 10 am. There was no travel desk to help with itinerary planning for international first time tourists like us.

Location of the hotel was very good. The reception staff was helpful and courteous.

Limited number of elevators, which can cause some waiting time.

Great location, beautiful lobby, excellent staff service, and spacious, well-designed rooms.

You can’t beat the location on the Royal Mile. Usually I prefer to be somewhat removed from the tourist center, but Zoe and Sarah made me feel at home as soon as I arrived and set me up with a quiet room on the 5th floor. I was in Edinburgh for Fringe, and the location made it easy to get to all the venues. My room was comfortable, the WiFi worked well, and most importantly I slept peacefully after long days of seeing shows.

Rather expensive. Lobby area can be a bit manic because hotel is also a fringe venue. But all part of the fun.

Think we paid an extortionate price but it WAS Festival time and we DID need to be in prime location because of my husband's limited mobility.

Perfect location on Royal Mile. Able to walk to Castle to attend Tattoo performance and enjoy fringe activities on the way! Friendly professional staff. Thank you. (Free parking at Hermiston a bonus and 35 bus dropped us off just outside the hotel!)
