Fascinating pub in Eton with amazing views of Windsor Castle! The room was perfect: clean, with everything you might need, and very big. If you feel lazy, the pub offers a nice menu for lunch/dinner, with some gluten-free options included.

Our room was at the back side of the hotel, where there is a brightly lit outdoor seating area. The lights were on all night long and shown brightly into our bedroom. There are blackout curtains but we needed the window open to get cool air as there is no A/C. As expected when staying in town and at an inn, there is noise from people at the pub so take that into consideration.

In the middle of town with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Very walkable. There were good pillows and a nice duvet. Enough to make tea or instant coffee in the room.

Room was very hot. Fans provided which helped a bit but it was still very warm overnight, although not uncommon in old building during unusually warm days so not a lot that can be done.

Being 6ft I wouldn’t recommend anyone much taller staying in the top floor rooms, unless they’re very cautious, as I did hit my head and my bag on the way in and out. The bed was wonky, but comfy, the pub downstairs wasn’t open late.

I liked the location, 1 staff member was exceptional and made me feel welcome and gave me advice on things to do around. The room was nice for being a solo traveller, the bathroom was great. Tea / coffee / water set up was good.

Got a bit noisy outside at 0345, not sure why, nothing to do with the property but be aware that it is located on the edge of a busy thoroughfare between Windsor and Eton.

Quirky old building, small clean comfortable rooms. Good food and excellent beer. Great location to explore both Windsor and Eton.

Nothing to not like

The location was perfect, less than 2 mins to walk to a foot bridge being over looked by the castle and a beautiful walk along the river bank. Every shop was on the door stop, including some fine restraunts.

There was no lamp in my room, so having the main light on was a little bright getting into the evening.

Room's are small but well fitted, nice bathroom facilities and good size double bed even though listing noted it as a single :) a fan was provided, which was great considering the unusual heat at the moment.

As above the fan struggled to keep the room cool but it was 36 degrees Celsius so it would have been difficult to keep a room in this old building cool

Clearly more focussed on the pub business ,rather than the hotel side. No breakfast on offer ,but Costa coffee across the road well placed for sustenance

Only open when the pub opens (Post Noon) and if early (e.g. to drop some luggage off) we got help from another guest (until we found someone in the kitchen who was super helpful and more than nice)

The only thing I would have liked would be screens on the window. Otherwise, everything was quite good.

I loved the location and the pub and outdoor patio. It was quite convenient. Access to the train was an easy walk and to the river walk only a few minutes away. The room was very small, but I was alone, so no big problem. I would stay there again.

No bedside lamps meant one couldn’t read if the other wanted to sleep. Beautiful big fluffy doonas on beds, but a little too warm some nights
